All the writer’s thoughts and feelings are put into each word. Those are lines of memories, sincere emotions and full of love for Mom…
All the writer’s thoughts and feelings are put into each word. Those are lines of memories, sincere emotions and full of love for Mom…

In hundreds of letters sent to parents by K12 students of Dai Nam University, there are extremely touching memories and confidences about their mothers. Reading those confidences, anyone will feel that, "the world out there is vast, vast but not as vast as a mother's love, vast but not as vast as one's home; no matter how rich or glorious, glory is not as great as having a mother".

I always proudly "show off" to everyone that my mother is a coal mine worker...

That is the confession of Hoang Ngoc Lan - a K12 student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dai Nam University, when talking about her mother. Since childhood, Ngoc Lan has lacked her father's affection. Her memories of the age of 2 are only of broken wine bottles, her father's drunken scolding, and her parents' quarrels and fights. Always longing to receive love and care from her father; to live in a family with both a father and a mother, but she was the one who advised her mother to divorce.

I always proudly tell everyone that my mother is a coal mine worker.

“I have always longed for your love. I wanted to grow up in a happy family, with both my father and mother. But, after everything that has happened, I understand that it is impossible. I do not blame you…

I still remember that after the day my mother and father divorced, my mother and I moved to rent a room near the Workers' Bus Station. The room was only big enough for a single bed and a coffee table, and the toilet and other activities were shared with the whole room. Every time it rained, my mother and I had to use basins and buckets to catch the rain here and there.

When I was little, my mother rarely bought me candy, but instead she cooked delicious food for me. I also didn’t have dolls or teddy bears like other girls, instead I had dresses that my mother sewed for me.

“My mother is not rich, she has no status in society. She is just a coal mine worker, but I have never been ashamed of that. I am always proud to “show off” to everyone that she is a coal mine worker…” Ngoc Lan wrote in a letter to her mother.

Mom is the role model I want to become

For Le Phuong Hoa - a K12 student of the Faculty of Business Administration, Dai Nam University, her mother is always the most ideal role model. "My mother is always gentle, patient and loves us unconditionally. She tolerates my father's erratic temper so that we never see our family having arguments. To me, my mother is not only my mother but also a great friend, a support, a place where I can share all my feelings..."

Thank you mom for always being forgiving and loving me unconditionally.
Mom can be proud of her son now.

Perhaps, reading these lines, the mother of Nguyen Ngoc Son - a K12 student of the Faculty of Business Administration, Dai Nam University will be very happy because now her son has grown up, matured, and can take care of himself.

“Mom always nags because I often forget to turn off the hot water, but when she sees Dad is nearby, she just whispers a reminder so he doesn't scold me.

Mom always tells me to let me be sick, but when I have a slight cough or fever, she rushes to buy medicine and urges me to take it because she is afraid I will have a high fever.

Mom! I'm all grown up now. I'm much more mature now, no longer a crybaby when I first leave home and talk to you all night. I've learned to be independent, to save money, and I've earned my first money. Even though it's not much, I'm still happy and I'm sure you will be too. You don't have to worry anymore, Mom!

I just started school but I have already started my internship at the school hotel. In 1-2 months, I will probably work at the school hotel, so don't worry about my learning environment. There are 60 students in the class but only 20 students were selected and I was in the group of 20 students who had the first internship, so you should be proud of your son..."

Thank you mom for always being forgiving and loving me unconditionally…

Souksakhone Phommachan - a student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, K12, Dai Nam University, wrote: “ Thank you, Mom, for always being forgiving even though I hurt your feelings. Thank you, Mom, for understanding the things that “only the two of us know”. Thank you, Mom, for always answering all my questions and teaching me that asking questions is a wonderful thing. Thank you, Mom, for a wonderful friendship. Thank you, Mom, for teaching me to always be myself. Thank you, Mom, for always smiling at me…”
