Mock Auction – Million Dollar Villa: Academic Playground for DNU Law Students

The mock auction was organized under the advice of Ms. Le Thi Diep (Auctioneer) - Director of An Gia Joint Stock Auction Company; Lawyer Nguyen Ngoc Lan - Head of the Law Club under the Faculty of Law, Dai Nam University.

Speaking at the Auction, Lawyer Nguyen Ngoc Lan said: “Reality shows that there are many biased views about the law profession such as becoming a lawyer after graduation or studying law is too dry and boring. To avoid students having this mindset, the Faculty of Law of Dai Nam University has focused on an application-oriented training program, increasing the diversity of practical experiences with this specific field of study. At the same time, the Law Club was established to bring legal practice activities to students at DNU Faculty of Law. The 2022 mock auction is part of a series of legal practice activities organized annually by the Law Club. This activity not only creates a playground for students to apply the knowledge they have learned in the classroom into practice, but also helps them understand the profession of an Auctioneer and the process of an auction. Thereby helping them orient their careers and plan their study path throughout their years in school.”

What's different about the 2022 Mock Auction?

Unlike previous years, the 2022 Mock Auction received a large response from students from first to final year. In addition, the Faculty of Law also expanded, inviting students from other faculties in the school to participate.

The property being auctioned is the “Million Dollar Villa” - which is currently under execution. Therefore, in this year’s Auction, students will participate in casting to choose the roles of Auctioneer; Prosecutor; Executor and Notary; Auction participant. From there, the process of conducting the auction of the “Million Dollar Villa” will be recreated.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, a student of class LKT1502, shared: “I am very familiar with the image of auctions through movies, but the experience of playing the role of an auctioneer running an auction gave me a completely different feeling. For students majoring in economic law like us, the mock auction was really useful, helping me understand more about the auction profession, adding another career choice for us students.”

The 2022 mock auction of the DNU Faculty of Law was carefully invested in, providing students with extremely useful practical experiences.

Contrary to many people's thinking that the law industry is very "dry", the Bachelor of Economic Law training program at Dai Nam University is very interesting and equally effective through the training method according to practical models.

Admission methods for Economic Law major at Dai Nam University

To become a student of Economic Law, candidates need to perform 02 steps:

• Method 1: Consider the 2022 high school graduation exam scores. Use the results of 03 subjects from the high school graduation exam results according to the admission combination;
• Method 2: Admission based on high school transcripts. Average score of grade 12 according to the combination of 3 subjects for admission ≥ 21 points;
