Medical waste is one of the main causes of environmental pollution.
In Vietnam, every day, 120 thousand m3 of medical wastewater is discharged, 350 - 400 tons of medical waste, of which 42 tons of toxic medical waste need to be treated. Waste from medical facilities includes normal waste, medical waste, chemical waste, radioactive waste and pressurized containers. If not treated properly, it will directly threaten human life and health.
Meanwhile, most medical facilities do not pay due attention to medical waste treatment . Of the 1,263 hospitals, 53.4% have wastewater treatment facilities, 46.6% have almost no wastewater treatment system. For solid waste, 90% of hospitals collect daily, 67% of hospitals treat it with incinerators, peat or other burning technologies, 32.2% treat it with manual furnaces or bury it in the hospital, (According to Vnexpress)

Future pharmacists will further enhance their professional awareness by upholding the slogan “sterile and clean” before entering the laboratory. This also needs to be practiced as a habit in professional skills later when participating in pharmaceutical production lines to create the best and safest products for people’s health.
Nguyen Thi Tuyet - Student of Pharmacy, Dai Nam University shared: "If we are conscious of "throwing trash in the bin" to preserve the environment and keep it clean, bacteria and viruses will have less chance to attack patients, and then we will not have to use medicine. Future pharmacists always hope that people will be aware, maintain hygiene, protect the environment, to live healthy, prevent diseases, and minimize the use of medicine, especially antibiotics."
