Maximizing the experience between studying and working at businesses - a factor that helps 100% of FIT DNU students find jobs while still in school

“Enhancing the maximum experience between studying and doing at businesses” is one of the learning ecosystems that is being applied vigorously and effectively at the Faculty of Information Technology (IT) of Dai Nam University (DNU). This is one of the important factors contributing to the rate of 100% of DNU IT students graduating with jobs in their majors with high remuneration and being well-regarded by businesses. To continue developing the School - Business ecosystem, maximizing practical experience for students in the direction of practical learning - practical work, the Faculty of Information Technology has focused on developing a network of strategic partner businesses to join hands in training according to social needs, organizing Business Forums, job fairs... so that students can access businesses right from the first year and throughout the learning process. The program to welcome new students of K16, celebrate the 13th anniversary of the Faculty's establishment and the Business Forum are among the programs to develop that ecosystem.

The meeting of new IT students of K16 was attended by the Board of Directors; leaders, staff, lecturers of the IT department; students of courses 13, 14, 15 and all new IT students of course 16.

On the guest side, there were: Mr. Imamichi Masahiro - General Director of Usol Company (Japan); Mr. Nguyen Van Sy - Director of WIS Vietnam Software Services Joint Stock Company; Ms. Nguyen Thi Duong - Deputy Director in charge of Project - OrientSoft Company; Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong - Technical Director of Gonstack Investment and Technology Company Limited; Mr. Nguyen Trong Duy - Deputy Director of HiNE Company; Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang - Development Director of SHB Bank; Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Co-Founder at 2GIAY; Mr. Alex Nguyen - CEO of Litextension, an expert in e-commerce; and representatives of KB Security Vietnam Company, VietESoft Vietnam IT Solutions Joint Stock Company, etc.

Committed to bringing the Faculty of Information Technology to new heights

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong - Vice Principal of Dai Nam University congratulated the new IT students of K16 for choosing the right destination. She advised the new students: "You need to determine that studying is an important task from the very first day; take advantage of the 4 years at the University to study, practice and seek opportunities for yourself. The University and the Faculty of Information Technology always create the best conditions for you to study and pursue your passion."

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong congratulated the new students of K16 who passed the 2022 high school exam and chose the Faculty of Information Technology, Dai Nam University as their destination.

At the same time, Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong sent her congratulations on the 13th birthday of the Faculty of Information Technology: “The Faculty of Information Technology is one of the “key” faculties of Dai Nam University. Over the years, the Faculty has grown and become stronger, from expertise, teaching staff, students to expanding business cooperation. I hope that the position of the Faculty of Information Technology of Dai Nam University will be increasingly affirmed in the future”.

The Faculty of Information Technology has grown steadily after 13 years of establishment.

Dr. Tran Dang Cong - Head of the Faculty of Information Technology is committed to expanding business cooperation, bringing the best learning and practice opportunities to students. "On behalf of the Faculty of Information Technology, I am committed to bringing the Faculty to a new level of development" , Dr. Tran Dang Cong affirmed.

Accordingly, new students of K16 of the IT faculty will study according to a new training program, increase the level of experience, strongly connect with businesses, create part-time job opportunities for first and second year students; practice and internship for third and fourth year students; ensure job referrals for students after graduation.

Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang - Development Director of SHB Bank said: With the current technology, the role of IT staff in the bank is extremely important. Therefore, many strict requirements are set when the bank recruits IT staff.

In response to the question “What are the plus points when applying for an IT staff position in a bank?”, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang said: “In addition to expertise, programming skills… soft skills such as teamwork, presentation, problem analysis, situation handling… are what employers want from candidates.”
