Amidst hundreds of bachelor gowns fluttering in the joy of graduation, an unexpected moment made the entire Dai Nam University campus burst into laughter. No one thought that the place where there was only laughter of farewells would witness such a romantic proposal.

The young man suddenly knelt down in the middle of the stage, giving a sparkling ring to the girl who was moved to tears in front of teachers, friends and hundreds of students. No script, no warning, just a sincere heart and enough love to turn a graduation ceremony into the most memorable day of one's life.

The person who "closed the deal" at the graduation ceremony was Tong Dai Duc - a new graduate of Business Administration, Faculty of Business Administration and Marketing. The girl who was proposed to was Nguyen Phuong My - a former student of Pedagogical University 2. Two people, two places, a chance encounter - and a love that lasted for 5 years, from Vinh Phuc to Hanoi, from student days to the first steps into life.

A love story that started in the dormitory

"We met by chance when he came to visit my dormitory friend. He is from Quang Ninh, I am from Hanoi, and we met in Vinh Phuc," Phuong My said. At that time, Duc had just returned from China due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, and then decided to apply to Dai Nam University. And so they "fell in love" from a simple meeting, which lasted until today.

A proposal… only once in a lifetime

“I thought a lot about it too. If we proposed at a restaurant or a coffee shop, it would be too normal. But graduation day only happens once in a lifetime. I want to turn that moment into an unforgettable mark for both of us.” – Dai Duc shared about the decision that made the whole schoolyard burst into tears.

The unexpected, simple but emotional proposal "caused a storm" right after the graduation ceremony. The clip recording this touching moment quickly spread on social networks with countless congratulations, exclamations and even... a little sweet jealousy.

Graduated, got a job and… got a lover

Currently, Phuong My is working in the import-export sector at GBN Electric Light Company (Hanoi), while Dai Duc is an assistant to a Chinese expert in the production sector at Devyt Joint Stock Company (Hai Phong). The couple, who graduated together, are planning a wedding in the near future.

DNU – a place that not only awards degrees, but also witnesses hundred-year promises

At Dai Nam University, beautiful love stories are not rare. There have been dozens of couples who found love from this very school – studying together, growing up together, then staying to continue to contribute to the school that gave wings to their youth.

Like the couple Vu Dang Tuan Anh - former student of K5, Faculty of Accounting, currently Secretary of the School Youth Union, and Nguyen Thi Nhu Hoa - student of K7, Faculty of Pharmacy, now become official lecturers of the Faculty of Pharmacy after graduating with a master's degree from Hanoi University of Pharmacy and passing the rigorous teaching rounds of Dai Nam University. They have returned to the place where they studied to continue to contribute and inspire the next generation.

The couple Vu Dang Tuan Anh and Nguyen Thi Nhu Hoa became friends from the volunteer student team of Dai Nam University.

Or like the couple Nguyen Duc Anh (K10, Faculty of Accounting) - a staff of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture and Trinh Thi Dieu Linh (K10, Faculty of Pharmacy), they not only wrote a beautiful love story but are also continuing together the journey of building and developing this beloved school - the place that brought them together and gave wings to their dreams.

There are many beautiful relationships like that present here – between lectures, in exciting student activities, or simply accidental glances across the schoolyard.

And who knows, the main character of the next proposal – is quietly preparing for the special moment of his life… right at Dai Nam – a place that not only imparts knowledge, but also nurtures lifelong love.
