Law Faculty Competition Final 2023: Affirming the talent and understanding of DNU young people about law

“The candidates have affirmed their mettle, talent, and in-depth knowledge as real lawyers when presenting convincing arguments and evidence to defend their views. Surely they will go far in the future…” That was the comment of lawyer Nguyen Ngoc Lan at the final round of the 2023 Law Competition organized by the Faculty of Law, Dai Nam University.
The Law Faculty Debate Contest is a contest organized by the Law Faculty, the Law Faculty Club - under the Faculty of Law, Dai Nam University. The contest is an academic playground for young people who share a passion for debate and legal issues; a place for students to interact, exchange, express their voices, thinking, stance, arguments, speaking and debating skills; at the same time, improve their knowledge of law.
The content of the contest focuses on topical legal issues, with many opposing opinions that are valuable in recommending law-making.
This year, the contest focuses on two "hot" topics that young people are interested in: "The influence of KOLs on the rise and fall of brands" and "The whirlwind called Tiktok and Vietnamese youth in the digital transformation period".
8 excellent candidates entered the final round of the Law Competition
Different from the Law Contest 2022, this year the Organizing Committee has changed the format of the team elimination in the final round to individual debate. Each topic of the competition has 4 contestants participating in the debate; They can choose to "Support" or "Oppose" the topic given by the Organizing Committee. Each contestant has 10 minutes to present their personal opinion and each contestant will have to answer 2 questions from the Jury. The final score of each contestant is the average of all 5 judges.
Faced with two "hot" topics, the contestants confidently demonstrated their quick, sharp arguments, critical thinking and critical thinking abilities, demonstrating the mettle of DNU students.
Contestant No. 01 Tran Y Tho - class LKT 1401 opened with a confident demeanor and gave sharp arguments to convince the judges.
Contestant No. 02 Do Thi Thuy Lien with the viewpoint "Supporting the influence of KOLS on the ups and downs of brands"
Contestant candidate number 03 Duong Gia Ninh - class LKT 16.02 performed excellently in his speech.
In the end, the first prize went to contestant Duong Gia Ninh with the viewpoint "Supporting the influence of KOLS on the rise and fall of brands"; The second prize went to contestant Trinh Quang Huan with the viewpoint opposing "The whirlwind called Tik Tok and its influence on Vietnamese youth in the digital transformation period"; The third prize went to contestant Tran Y Tho with the same viewpoint "Supporting the influence of KOLS on the rise and fall of brands". The remaining 5 contestants received the Promising Prize.

Mr. Vu Dang Tuan Anh - Secretary of the School Youth Union and Lawyer Nguyen Ngoc Lan awarded the promising prizes to 5 candidates.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Loi - Dean of the Faculty shared: "The Law Competition is a useful academic playground to train students' knowledge and professional skills. The Board of Directors of the Law Faculty and the Law Club will strive to build more playgrounds for students majoring in Economic Law next year."
Duong Gia Ninh - class LKT 1601 expressed: “I personally feel very lucky and proud because my efforts have been rewarded. From the contestant who received the last lucky ticket in the preliminary round, I have made a comeback to become the champion contestant in the final round today. Thank you to the Organizing Committee for allowing first-year students like me to participate in such a useful playground. I hope the Faculty will organize more academic playgrounds so that we have the opportunity to experience it.”
The competition ended but the lingering echoes from the debates still linger in everyone's heart. The competition not only stopped at exchanging, learning and improving legal knowledge but the message from the competition also spread forever, contributing to widely disseminating legal knowledge to generations of students and the community.
