Career opportunities in the Architecture industry in the wave of industrial revolution 4.0

With the characteristics of being located between the two fields of art and engineering, requiring high calculation ability and aesthetic sense as well as diverse career development opportunities, architecture is still a field of study that creates strong attraction for young people.

Architecture students of the Faculty of Construction - Architecture, Dai Nam University are confident, dynamic and self-assertive.

According to a survey by Architect magazine, architecture ranks 2nd in the list of the most creative professions in the world and 19th in the list of high-income Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) professions.

Research and surveys also show that architecture is one of the HOT professions in the next 5-10 years. The number of architectural works is increasing, the demand for human resources is also increasing, creating countless jobs for the architecture industry. In addition, the opportunities for architects to work abroad are also very open. Currently, the US, Europe, Singapore, Japan... and developed Asian countries are attracting many architects from abroad, including Vietnam.

Important knowledge and skills of an architect

- Solid knowledge: Master design principles and construction principles to design architectural and planning works; read, understand and implement ideas and technical drawings correctly, completely and accurately according to regulations.

-Soft knowledge: Knowledge of architectural physics, graphics, construction economics, electrical and water engineering...

-Hard skills: Ability to proficiently use specialized computer software: autocad, photoshop, 3D MAX, corel draw, powerpoint..

-Soft skills: Presentation skills; thinking skills, observation, creativity, initiative in work, teamwork skills, work management skills; foreign language skills, communication skills.

Where is a good place to study architecture?

The Faculty of Construction and Architecture is one of the first four faculties established at Dai Nam University. By 2017, the Faculty had enrolled 10 courses, of which 5 courses had graduated. The employment survey results showed that 100% of the students of the Faculty of Construction and Architecture had jobs after graduation, more than 90% had jobs in their major.

The staff and lecturers at the Faculty of Construction and Architecture are mostly Professors, Associate Professors, Doctors, Masters, and leading officials from major universities such as: University of Civil Engineering, University of Transport and Communications, University of Architecture, Military Technical Academy... with a lot of experience in teaching and practice.

During the learning process, students are given the opportunity to work on projects that are close to the actual construction, either part or the entire project, right from their university days. Students often have the opportunity to visit and intern at construction sites and leading consulting companies.

Students of the Faculty of Construction and Architecture, Dai Nam University won first prize in the 2019 Traditional Camp - Youth with green living.

In addition to enjoying a highly practical training program with 50% theory and 50% practice right from the first year, students majoring in Architecture at Dai Nam University also participate in useful extracurricular classes with prestigious experts and architects and have the opportunity to practice their profession directly at many businesses.
