The Faculty of Information Technology is one of the key department of Dai Nam University thanks to its competent and enthusiastic lecturers and a cohort of coordinators coming from other big universities of Vietnam.
The training program is designed and continuously updated to keep pace with the development trend of the Information Technology field and the general economy. The program both follows the regulation of Ministry of Education & Training and updates modern scientific and technological knowledge of the world
The faculty has a cohort of advisors who are experienced and well-known scientists, technological experts and Information Technology strategists in Vietnam.
The faculty is currently cooperating with leading universities, institutes of information technology in Vietnam such as Hanoi University of Technology and Science, Hanoi National University, Vietnam Institute of Science and other universities; with leading information technology training corporations such as Aptech, NIIT,…; with leading software producers such as IBM Vietnam, Microsoft Vietnam, FPT, CMC, Vietsoftware…; with Vietnam Association for Information Processing - VAIP, Vietnam Free & Open Source Sofware Association – VFOSSA; with information technology application companies such as VCCorp, Vatgia Joint Stock Company…
For student management, the faculty makes a close connection of school-family-student to bring satisfaction and assurance to students and families.
II. EDUCATIONAL GOALS
1. General goals
Training competent information technology engineers and college bachelors able to (1) program and apply information technology software in social-economic activities; (2) to program and develop management software on Internet; (3) to design and manage computer networks; (4) to participate in building, managing and executing information technology projects. Students graduated from the department can successfully handle jobs as programmer, network designer, network administrator, IT project manager and other related professional jobs in governmental and private businesses and organization.
2. Specific goals
a. On knowledge
- Understanding and applying basic knowledge of social science and natural science into studying and acquiring professional knowledge
- Understanding and apply computer system knowledge;
- Understanding programming and using proficiently programming languages;
- Understanding and applying knowledge of data structure and solution;
- Understanding and applying knowledge of database, database administration system, database designing and exploiting methods;
- Proficiently using advanced technologies in developing applications and embedded system;
- Understanding and knowing how to administer and exploit computer system (including computer network).
+ Professional competencies
- Knowing how to apply general design mind from basic and professional knowledge;
- Being proficient in programming and executing Web technology
- Being proficient in setting and administering network systems, administering databased and maintaining personal computer system
- Being able to design, manage and exploit IT projects
b. Skills
+ Hard skills
- Understanding and being able to observing, analyzing and design IT systems;
- Being able to manage IT systems, IT projects, time and work;
- Being proficient in presentation and document preparation
- Being proficient in English with the aim at TOEIC 400 and proficient professional foreign language.
+ Soft skills
- Being able to communicate effectively through 4 skills: writing, reading, listening and speaking;
- Being able to work independently and teamwork
- Having systematic independent mind, being confident to approach new knowledge and being able to apply IT in solving problems in life.

- Understanding and conducting well the Law of Electronic Trade and other regulations related to IT field;
- Understanding the Law of Intellectual Property and having proper attitude toward patents
- Having political and civic virtue
- Having professional ethics and responsibility;

- IT specialists at IT departments of educational organizations from high schools to universities and institutes
- IT researchers at research institutes of ministries or schools
- IT specialist at commercial banks, state bank, financial centers, big economic corporation, government and businesses.

e. Learning ability after graduation
- Being able to continuously learning to update new knowledge to keep up with the rapid changes of IT field;
- Being able to continue study at higher level such as Master or Ph.D at local or foreign educational schools.
III. ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE
The faculty consists of competent and experienced lecturers who are Ph.D, Master and Main Lecturers at big local and foreign schools. The lecturers are educated at famous schools and institutes in Vietnam and abroad.
