Recently, the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture - Dai Nam University (DNU) organized a Workshop with the topic "Job opportunities for students majoring in Japanese studies at Japanese hotels" with speaker Masao Tanaka - Chairman and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KPG Hotel & Resort Group.

This is an activity within the Project "Connecting 100 Japanese Enterprises" which has been implemented by the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture since mid-2021. The goal is to provide students with many opportunities to gain practical experience in the working environment of Japanese enterprises in many different fields.

Mr. Masao Tanaka - President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KPG Hotel & Resort Group had an online exchange with students of the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture.

At the talk, Mr. Masao Tanaka shared about job positions and working environment in hotels in Japan. In particular, he introduced to students the overview, operating model, goals and business motto of KPG Hotel & Resort Group. Accordingly, KPG Hotel & Resort Group operates in many fields of resort and entertainment in Japan with the ownership of 26 hotels from 3 to 5 stars, 5 luxury Resorts & Golf, 5 leading entertainment complexes and nearly 50 luxury restaurant chains in Japan.

In the personnel structure of KPG Hotel & Resort Group, the ratio of foreigners working is the highest among hotel chains in Japan. Notably, the Group currently has 9 Vietnamese students doing internships at hotels in the chain.

MSc. Hua Ngoc Tan - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture said, “The Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with KPG Hotel & Resort Group on accepting students of the Faculty to intern and work at the Group. Therefore, 3rd year students of the Faculty will be sent to intern at different positions in hotels of KPG Hotel & Resort Group to improve their Japanese language proficiency and learn professional working methods and manners of the Japanese. After graduation, students will easily adapt to the working environment of Japanese enterprises.”

Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture shares about the strategic cooperation agreement between KPG Hotel & Resort Group and the Faculty.

At the same time, according to Mr. Masao Tanaka shared in the exchange session, "KPG Hotel & Resort Group is always ready to officially recruit students from the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture (DNU) who have excellent performance during their internship at the Group and desire to work in the restaurant and hotel industry in Japan". In particular, Mr. Takeuchi Kazumichi - General Director of Sekai Jinzai Company - Guest of the Workshop shared more information about the need to recruit foreigners in Japanese enterprises, especially Vietnamese people.

During the exchange, speaker Masao Tanaka also answered questions from students of K14 and K15 about the similarities and differences when working in restaurants, hotels and resorts in Vietnam and Japan. At the same time, he also explained the needs and job positions for foreign employees, especially Vietnamese, in Japanese hotel systems and the qualities to be able to work well in those positions.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Masao Tanaka sent the students, especially the new students of K15, his warmest congratulations and welcome. He advised the students to study hard and made an appointment to meet the students of K14 who will intern at KPG Hotel & Resort Group next year when the Covid-19 epidemic has stabilized. On behalf of the leaders of the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture, Deputy Head of the Faculty - Hua Ngoc Tan sent his sincere thanks to the speaker for his valuable and extremely practical sharing with the students of the Faculty. At the same time, Deputy Head of the Faculty - Hua Ngoc Tan emphasized the importance of the Project "Connecting 100 Japanese Enterprises" that the Faculty is implementing and committed to 100% employment after graduation for the students.
