The fourth outbreak of Covid-19 in Vietnam is spreading rapidly, complicatedly and extremely dangerous. The number of positive cases of Covid-19 continues to increase every day. The work of collecting samples for testing, treatment, tracing, zoning and quarantining is facing many difficulties. Hospitals receiving and treating Covid-19 patients are facing the risk of being overloaded with personnel and a serious shortage of medical equipment and supplies.
More than 400 staff, lecturers and students of DNU Health Department have been trained in Covid-19 prevention and control.
Responding to the call of the Minister of Health to mobilize forces from medical and pharmaceutical universities and colleges nationwide to support human resources for epidemic prevention and control in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang, Dai Nam University organized a training course on Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control for more than 400 staff, lecturers and students of the Health sector to fully prepare the spirit, knowledge and skills to join hands with the whole country to repel Covid-19 in the spirit of "fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy".
At the end of the training session, hundreds of cadres, lecturers, staff and students of the school's Health Department volunteered to support the epidemic centers of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang. Notably, there were teachers over 70 years old; young teachers who were busy with family and young children; first-year students still volunteered to go to the epidemic centers with the sole desire to join hands to fight the epidemic.
With well-equipped knowledge of epidemic prevention and control along with high spirit and determination, DNU teachers and students confidently participate in supporting the epidemic centers.
“ As one of the Youth Union cadres who grew up from the Student Volunteer Team, from community activities organized by Dai Nam University; with full responsibility, health and mental readiness, I hope to contribute a small part of my efforts to the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces..." That is the earnest wish of Mr. Vu Dang Tuan Anh - Secretary of the Youth Union of Dai Nam University, written in his application to volunteer to participate in the fight against the epidemic in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang.
Although they are only first-year students, 100% of the medical students at Dai Nam University said they are ready to leave when there is a mobilization order from the Ministry of Health and the school.
“Following the developments of the epidemic every day, witnessing the overload, hardship, and sacrifice of the medical staff and frontline anti-epidemic forces, I really want to contribute my small part in it. My wish is also supported by my family, teachers, and friends. When there is a mobilization order, I am always ready at the highest level…” Mai Hoang – General Medicine class 14-01, Faculty of Medicine shared.
Dang Thi Huyen Trang - High Quality Pharmacy class 10-06, Faculty of Pharmacy confided: "Participating in supporting disease prevention and control at the epidemic center not only requires spirit but also good knowledge and professional skills. With the knowledge of Pharmacy learned in 5 years of study and knowledge of disease prevention and control that has been thoroughly trained by the school, I am confident in participating in support according to the mobilization order..."
We set out with the Fatherland in our hearts.
Le Duy Hai, a third-year student of the Nursing Faculty at Dai Nam University, also volunteered to support the epidemic area. “As a future nurse, I feel that I cannot stay out of this battle. I want to share part of the burden of work with the frontline medical staff so that the epidemic can be pushed back soon…”
Dr. Luong Cao Dong - Principal of Dai Nam University said: "The school will select cadres, lecturers and students with knowledge of disease prevention and control, good health, high spirit and sense of solidarity to be ready to go when there is a mobilization order from the Ministry of Health..."
In addition to responding to human resources, Dai Nam University also called on all cadres, lecturers, employees and Youth Union members in the school to donate to the Covid-19 Fund. Accordingly, after only a few days of launching, more than 200 million VND was donated. Notably, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the University Council approved the expenditure of 1 billion VND to support the school's Covid-19 Prevention and Control Fund.
