Realizing the reality that students graduate with solid expertise but lacking in life skills and attitudes, losing many career opportunities; Dai Nam University focuses on training and making Soft Skills (Skills) a core subject, teaching students from the first day they step into the classroom. During the learning process, students not only learn theory in class but also participate in practical activities at the Basic Soft Skills Camp "Success - Failure depends on skills". This is both an opportunity for students to improve their spirit and physical strength and to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to practice. At the same time, the Basic Soft Skills Camp is also a premise for them to enter the Advanced Soft Skills subject, practicing the necessary skills, serving their future work. Having fully experienced the basic KNM camp, K16 has accumulated for themselves many valuable lessons and practical soft skills that are not found in any textbooks or books, creating a huge qualitative change in the first-year students.

Be proactive and confident in expressing yourself

Vu Hai Duc - IT class 16.04 could not help but be excited when experiencing the unique KNM Camp at Dai Nam University. The male student said that at first he was shy so he did not dare to express his own opinions. But then, the vibrant atmosphere of the KNM Camp "swept" Hai Duc away, making him more bold in expressing himself.

“The KNM camp is a useful activity that helps me gain more practical experiences for myself. I get to know more friends, become more active and confident, and know my own strengths and weaknesses to overcome and develop…”, Hai Duc shared.

With poor physical condition, Pham Linh Chi – class QTDL 16.01 worried that she would become a “black hole” for her teammates. However, it was her enthusiasm and strategy that helped Linh Chi and her team overcome the challenges and become the Champion of Camp 1.

The female student said: “The biggest lesson I learned after the KNM Camp is confidence, proactively giving opinions, determining goals, strategies, and “stirring up” the atmosphere... I am not physically strong, but I can still inspire and motivate my teammates, and together we can overcome challenges.”

KNM Camp is a place for young people to step out of their comfort zone, confidently express their opinions and express themselves.

Lower your ego to enhance collective strength

After participating in the KNM Camp, Tran Hoai Phuong - class TCNH 16.02 established many relationships with students from other faculties. At the same time, she also learned many useful lessons for herself such as: being responsible at work, knowing how to think about people around.

“Each of us is a separate individual, we may be good at one field but not necessarily good at another; therefore, we must know how to lower our ego to listen to everyone's opinions, help each other to create strength for the whole team. Success is not about one person doing well; success is when we know how to try, listen and respect each other,” said Hoai Phuong.

Unity is the key strength of success.

Nguyen Nhat Minh - class YDK 16.01 also believes that it is necessary to promote collective strength: "We cannot always choose our teammates and colleagues to work with. Therefore, the only thing we can do is adapt, be open, unite, and coordinate smoothly to complete the task. I always remember a saying: I can't, you can't but we can - I can't, you can't but we can...".

Giving up selfishness for the collective is one of the great lessons for K16 students.

Accumulate many new skills for yourself

In the role of team leader, Ta Thi Thuy Linh - class QTKD 16.05 has "accumulated" for herself the following skills: leadership, planning, goal setting, inspiration, problem solving, emotional control...

“The KNM camp is not simply a “playground” for students from different classes and faculties to exchange, learn, and connect, but also a place to practice emotions and discover each person’s abilities. I know how to control my anger to encourage my teammates to overcome challenges; sit together to come up with strategies to overcome the game of Stairway to Heaven, Number Maze…”, Thuy Linh said.

A game becomes easy with strategy, skill and team unity.

Quach Thi Hong Hai - class TT 16.01 also learned valuable lessons and skills: "In addition to teamwork skills, I also learned negotiation skills, physical communication, building trust, creating relationships, time management skills and personal planning... At the same time, the KNM Camp also helped me understand that to be successful, being good is not enough, you need to have a good attitude and skills; strive, persevere and not be afraid of difficulties and challenges".

Persistence, perseverance, and constant effort are useful lessons that K16 new students learned from the KNM camp.

Le Ha Thanh - LKT 16.02 shared: “The KNM training camp is a very fun and interesting competition. We - first-year students who are still unfamiliar with the new learning environment, get to experience and unleash all our energy. The KNM camp has helped me improve my listening skills, team management, public speaking, adapting to change... These are all practical skills that will be a good complement to my future work.”

Students are more active, confident and mature after participating in KNM Camp.

Love and cherish family

Do Thi Thao - Pharmacy class 16.02 expressed her impression with the emotional experience and attitude change activities of the KNM Camp. The female student said that she was moved and immediately called her family. The words of thanks and apology that she had been expressing for so long, she could finally say them out loud to her parents.

“I am grateful to my parents for always loving me wholeheartedly and giving me the best life possible. I will try my best to study to become a good pharmacist and make my parents proud in the future…”

The KNM Camp “Success or failure depends on skills” will certainly be a “unique” experience in the life of every new student of Dai Nam University. The lessons, skills, and experiences “tempered” at the KNM Camp will be the luggage for each young person on the path of learning and getting closer to success.
