How did the Mentor Team change after the Soft Skills Camp?

From shy boys and girls who were afraid to stand in front of a crowd, now the mentors of the DNU Soft Skills Camp are increasingly mature, dynamic, enthusiastic, responsible for their work; becoming guides and motivators for the competing teams.
Criteria to become a Mentor
To make the Soft Skills Training Camp (Success - Failure depends on skills) a success, we cannot fail to mention the contribution of 30 mentors. These are the boys and girls who will accompany the teams throughout the participation in the Soft Skills Camp.
Accordingly, a mentor is a person who advises, guides, supports, supervises and monitors the teams to overcome the challenge stations. 05 criteria to select a mentor for the KNM Camp:
First, students register for mentor positions on a voluntary basis.
Second, the learning process in class must be serious, diligent, and not violate the rules.
Third, you need to ensure your health to attend 10 KNM Camps and participate in experiential activities.
Fourth, they are energetic, enthusiastic, daring, not afraid of difficulties, hardships, and ready at all times when mobilized.
Fifth, be able to withstand great pressure and adhere to high discipline.
Not only are they supervisors and monitors, mentors are also motivators, encouragers, and motivational agents for the competing teams.
Learn and apply many skills in practice
In the role of mentor, Ta Thi Huyen My - class TCNH 16.02 has many opportunities to express herself; at the same time, she can apply the skills learned in class into practice such as: Communication skills, time management, goal setting, problem solving...
“Becoming a mentor, I am aware that I have to be a good example, constantly practice to be able to support the competing teams, and become an extension of the teachers. I realize my strengths and weaknesses; learn many new skills such as coordination, motivation, goal orientation, physical communication…” , Huyen My shared.
The mentors are always full of enthusiasm and wholeheartedly guide the competing teams.
Hoang Ha Anh – E-commerce class 16.01 also had positive changes after becoming a mentor. From a carefree, unconventional girl, Ha Anh learned time management skills and reasonable work arrangement.
“Through the process of guiding the teams, I have been able to develop my leadership, supervision, problem-solving, and concentration skills to be able to overview, comment, and score in the most objective and accurate way,” said Ha Anh.
Ha Anh learned and applied many new skills in life.
Expand your network - confidently assert yourself
Impressed by the topic "Success or failure depends on skills", Nguyen Thi Hoan - Chinese class 16.03 decided to step out of her comfort zone to register to become a mentor of the KNM Camp.
The female student shared: “As an introvert, I am quite shy about communicating. After becoming a mentor, I became happier, more active, actively socialized, made friends and had more fun.”
Rarely participating in extracurricular activities, Nguyen Ba Phuong - class QTKD 16.06 felt quite nervous about becoming a mentor. However, the friendliness and enthusiasm of his "teammates" helped Phuong quickly "get in tune" with his new role.
“Thanks to the KNM Camp, I have the opportunity to interact, connect and expand relationships with students from different classes and faculties. I also feel more responsible, confident in standing in front of a crowd, guiding and motivating my friends,” said Ba Phuong.
KNM Camp has trained a boy who is "shy" of crowds like Ba Phuong to become an active person, confident in expressing himself.
Improve health – spirit
Mai Do Nhu Quynh – TTĐPT class 16.01 is extremely excited because instead of competing in 01 camp, the mentors will compete in 10 camps. Thanks to that, the female students can meet many new friends, accumulate many skills and experiences; and at the same time improve their physical strength.
“I see a clear improvement in my health after 5 KNM camps. I don’t feel tired or have muscle pain when I have to move a lot, instead, my body becomes more agile, my spirit is more refreshed and comfortable,” said Nhu Quynh.
Small mentors like Nhu Quynh are healthier and stronger after each KNM Camp.
Dang Hong Phuc - class CKO 16.02 also said that the KNM Camp brought about new emotions and experiences. The male student shared: “As a mentor who specializes in “finding mistakes”, I have become more serious and disciplined. I am confident in giving arguments and evidence so that my friends can recognize their mistakes and learn from them. From there, I have also learned lessons and set principles for myself.”
If you are afraid of difficulties, hardships, feel tired, want to give up, you certainly cannot become a "quality" mentor of the DNU KNM Camp.
Phuc also added: “When you love and are passionate enough about your work, you will no longer feel tired or bored, but instead feel joy and happiness. I am proud to be one of the mentors of the KNM Camp 2022.”
The KNM Camp “Success or failure depends on skills” is an interesting and useful “playground” to cultivate knowledge, practice skills as well as explore and “stimulate” the leadership and management abilities of young people. This will be the premise for mentors to “break through” and confidently assert themselves in their future work and life.
Surely in the following KNM seasons, there will be many people who want to become a mentor to practice and discover themselves...
