"Hot" with the semi-finals of the 1st Dai Nam Student Singing Contest

That was the comment of Mr. Pham Xuan Danh (Jury) about the quality of the performances in the semi-final round of "Staging" of the first Dai Nam Student Singing Contest, which took place on October 29, 2014, at Phu Lam Grand Hall, Ha Dong, Hanoi.

To be truly objective and highly professional, the Organizing Committee of the Student Singing Contest of Dai Nam University invited an independent panel of judges who are experts in the field of music, including Mr. Pham Xuan Danh - vocal lecturer of the Central University of Art Education. Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Dau - Head of the Vocal Department of Hanoi University of Culture.

The judges were delighted with the entries.

After the Preliminary round called “Tham am” took place on October 21, out of 68 performances, the judges selected 24 performances for the Semi-finals. However, one contestant, due to personal reasons, could not continue to participate in the Semi-finals. The remaining 23 performances were very diverse and full of creativity and appeal in the way they performed the songs. Many solos, duets and group performances. All were performed with all their heart by the contestants, seriously investing in both costumes and performance style, giving the judges and the audience of Dai Nam deep impressions.

The audience in the hall was also captivated by the contest entries.

Although not training in the field of music, Dai Nam University organized this program first to create a playground for students, and more importantly, to train them to be independent, to be able to exploit themselves, to be brave in front of a crowd and to dare to express themselves. With confidence, talent and passion for music, Dai Nam students took the judges and the audience from one surprise to another. Therefore, at the end of the Semi-final round, the judges had to consider very carefully to choose the 10 best performances for the Final round scheduled to take place on November 14, 2014 - the school's founding day.
