Heart to Heart Foundation - Turning Mistakes into Love: When Discipline Nurtures Love

A humane initiative is being spread strongly from the Soft Skills classes of Dai Nam University (DNU) to turn violations of study regulations into "seeds of love" through the Heart to Heart Fund - Turning mistakes into love.

Learning Contracts: From Discipline to Community Responsibility

In each Soft Skills course, lecturers and students sign a “Learning Contract”. Any violations during the learning process will be converted into contributions to the Heart to Heart Fund. What seems to be “lost” becomes an opportunity to sow love and spread social responsibility. 

As of September 12, 2025, the Fund has received 95,545,689 VND from the cooperation of teachers and students. This is not only a financial figure, but also a vivid proof of the spirit of discipline, seriousness and sharing heart of the Dai Nam University students.

Charity Journey - Season 2

MSc. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Head of the Department of Soft Skills Training and Development, Dai Nam University said: all the money and donated items will be used for the charity program in Son La, with practical activities:

- Donated 223 warm coats to students in mountainous areas (44,600,000 VND).

- Awarded 32 scholarships worth 1,500,000 VND/scholarship for students of Chieng Xuan Kindergarten (12 scholarships) and Chieng Son Primary School (20 scholarships), total value 48,000,000 VND.

- Along with many meaningful gifts and artifacts from teachers, students and accompanying units.

- The total budget for the charity program Season 2 is expected to be up to 113,270,000 VND.

Meaning beyond numbers

Heart to Heart is not just a charity fund. It is also a humanistic educational philosophy of Dai Nam University - where each lesson not only equips skills, but also nurtures the spirit of kindness, love and responsibility to the community.

“At first, I felt that paying the fine was not a happy thing. But when I learned that the money was used to help children in the highlands, I felt that I had contributed a small part to a meaningful cause. I learned that mistakes can also turn into good things if we know how to change and share …” , Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong, class NB 1701, Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture shared.

Heart to Heart helps Dai Nam University students understand that discipline is not only a constraint, but also a way for young people to learn to mature and live more responsibly. Each fund does not only have material value, but also the love of the whole community.

The upcoming charity trip will not only bring warm clothes, scholarships and gifts to Son La children, but also bring love, maturity and pride of teachers and students of Dai Nam University.

This journey promises to continue to write a beautiful story: where small mistakes are turned into great gifts for the community, so that love is shared and multiplied.
