Graduation internship summary ceremony based on the model associated with business reality of Accounting students of University Course 5 and College Course 6

With the goal of "training students with good expertise, proficient in practical skills", "Theory linked to practice" of the Board of Directors (BOD), the Board of Directors of the training program of Dai Nam University has spent a considerable amount of time for students to go on field trips, to businesses for internships, surveys and writing graduation theses. However, through the process of guiding students for internships, there is a reality that students find it very difficult to access and fully understand the information and data needed for internship reports or graduation theses in Hanoi . That creates pressure and frustration for students. To complete the task, many students often write internship reports in a coping manner or copy them online to get by, the students' internships do not achieve practical results, students do not practice doing, and practice applying knowledge and skills into practice. This situation leads to a waste of training time, affecting the quality of training as well as the ability of students to work after graduation.
To overcome this situation, under the direction of the Board of Directors, the School's Board of Directors, the faculties have developed new training and internship directions and methods suitable to the students' abilities. In particular, the Faculty of Accounting has boldly changed the internship organization plan to a new form for students - graduation internship according to a model linked to business reality.
On the morning of June 19, 2015, the Faculty of Accounting held a graduation internship summary ceremony based on the model associated with business reality of Accounting students of the 5th University course and the 6th College course at the Great Hall, Dai Nam University, Phu Lam - Ha Dong.
MSc. Le The Anh - Head of the Accounting Faculty reported on the results of students' graduation internships according to the model linked to business reality.
The graduation internship program based on the model linked to business reality is conducted in two phases:
Phase 1: learn about the business in general and write a business overview report.
Phase 2: Instruct students to practice at the "virtual accounting room" by accounting faculty and staff at the school and in affiliated localities.
The content and method of organizing the graduation internship guidance in this innovative direction have received support and favorable conditions from the Board of Directors, the Board of Management and functional departments. The Board of Management of the School has allowed the 5th course of the Accounting Faculty to replace the graduation thesis with 02 specialized skills topics, which are:
Topic 1: Skills in creating, processing documents and recording accounting books
Topic 2: Financial reporting and tax reporting skills
As a new internship method from content to organization of graduation internship guidance, the Faculty of Accounting has organized training for staff and lecturers. With the enthusiastic and dedicated guidance of teachers in the Faculty, this new internship model has received the support of the majority of students. Many students who did not like accounting have become interested and passionate about this field of study:
“ Teacher, I never thought I would study accounting so hard, because I have never focused much on accounting before and I don’t really like studying accounting…. But I was wrong, I have never felt so comfortable and excited about studying. With the teachers’ dedicated guidance and the right method, I feel like accounting work is much simpler, I love this job more. Even though the distance from home to class and the harsh summer sun, I am determined not to miss a single class.” The shared lines of student Phung Manh Tuan KT 0502 are a great source of encouragement for the enthusiasm of the staff and lecturers of the Accounting Department.

After two months of hard work in the new model of both teachers and students of the Accounting Faculty, the students have achieved admirable graduation internship results. The number of excellent students is 60% (University system), and 16.7% (College system).

To make the model more familiar and achieve better results in the following years, with the support from the School, the Faculty of Accounting will continue to train and instruct basic and advanced Excel content for the teaching staff; continue to build and perfect the database of businesses.
The new internship model of the Faculty of Accounting is a breakthrough in changing the model and method of graduation internship. With this new implementation method, it basically helps students visualize the content and process of accounting work in enterprises; initially helping students form and consolidate accounting skills. With full facilities, from air-conditioned classrooms to computers connected to the network, printers, etc., students can practice accounting skills right in the lecture hall of Dai Nam University without having to attend additional classes at other centers. This is also an innovation in the training method of Dai Nam University.
