With the desire to create a playground for students to apply the knowledge they have learned in the classroom into practice and hone their professional skills, recently, the Faculty of Law, Dai Nam University, successfully organized a mock trial with the theme of "intentional injury". The mock trial was organized under the advice of Ms. Cao Thi Thanh Huyen - Secretary of the People's Court of Ba Dinh District (Hanoi), Lawyer Nguyen Ngoc Lan - member of the Hanoi Bar Association, the Faculty of Law Club and the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Law, Dai Nam University.

Attending the Mock Trial were: Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong - Vice Principal of Dai Nam University; Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Loi - Assistant to the President of the University Council, Manager of the Faculty of Law; Dr. Do Gia Thu - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law; MSc. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law; together with the staff, lecturers, students of the Faculty of Law and parents.

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong - Vice Principal of the School highly appreciated the Mock Trial event of teachers and students of the Faculty of Law.

Speaking at the trial, Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong expressed her pride and gave compliments and high appreciation for this Mock Trial event of the Faculty of Law: “Mock Trial is an activity that helps students better understand the litigation model in Vietnam, helping them gain practical experience in job positions such as judges, prosecutors, lawyers, etc. At the same time, the activity helps students practice professional skills such as litigation skills, argumentation, speaking skills, gestures, attitudes, etc. The knowledge gained from participating in practical activities such as mock trials will be much more valuable than just learning theory from books.”

The 2022 moot court session of the DNU Law Faculty teachers and students was carefully invested in, providing students with extremely useful practical experiences.

At the program, Law students experience a mock trial with a case built on practical documents and transform into litigators, prosecutors, judges... directly running the trial, participating in the debate, and resolving the case.

The 'future lawyers' demonstrated their confidence and bravery with the prosecutor's strong accusations, the intense arguments of the lawyers defending their clients, the contradictions in the statements of the defendant, the victim, people with related rights and obligations, witnesses... All created the climax of the trial.

The clerk of the court confidently conducted the trial.

Thereby, the Mock Trial opens up opportunities for Law students to gain practical experience, experience the atmosphere in court and visualize the important role of the legal department in real life. This is also an opportunity for students to apply the knowledge they have learned into practice, hone their professional skills; at the same time, understand more about their major as well as the professional positions they will take on in the future.

In particular, when participating in the Mock Trial, teachers and students of the Faculty of Law became even more connected when they stayed up until midnight to study case files, edit the program script, assign roles, rehearse... This will be an unforgettable memory for these 'future lawyers'.

Professionalism of future lawyers in moot court.

Mock trial is an effective learning model for law students. This is a popular, intuitive and vivid form that helps students absorb legal content in a natural, easy-to-understand and easy-to-remember way; it is an opportunity for law students to directly participate in researching real-life cases of their field of study, practicing professional skills, communication skills, behavior, teamwork, etc.

In addition, the mock trial is also an educational channel that has a strong impact on legal awareness, respect, behavior and compliance with the law for all popularized subjects.

With the motto of application-oriented training, hand-holding, and practice as you learn, the Faculty of Law of Dai Nam University especially focuses on and actively promotes legal practice for students.
