For a green future, collect and say goodbye to plastic waste

That is the action theme of the Project to set a record for making the Earth with recycled waste, which is being jointly implemented by more than 10,000 students of Dai Nam University.
Every minute the world consumes 1 million plastic bottles and 5,000 billion plastic bags.
Plastic waste is destroying the Earth's environment day by day, hour by hour.
According to United Nations statistics, the world produces 300 million tons of plastic waste each year. Currently, there are more than 9.1 billion tons of plastic waste accumulating on Earth. Of the plastic waste released into the environment, 79% is buried or thrown into the environment, 12% is burned, and only 9% is recycled.
On average, the world consumes 1 million plastic bottles and 5,000 billion plastic bags every minute. At the current rate of plastic product use, an additional 33 billion tons of plastic will be produced by 2050 and more than 13 billion tons of plastic waste will accumulate on Earth.
The whale died tragically after swallowing more than 40 kg of plastic waste in the ocean.
Environmental experts say that buried plastic waste exists for hundreds or thousands of years, causing erosion and preventing the soil from retaining water and nutrients, preventing oxygen, seriously affecting plant growth. Plastic waste dumped into the ocean damages coral reefs, threatening the habitat of marine animals and plants.
Plastic waste and nylon bags are increasing exponentially; every day, every hour, they destroy and destroy the human living environment, ecosystems, the animal world, especially marine life. Environmental pollution leads to global climate change, hundreds of millions of people around the world, including Vietnam, will fall into extreme poverty; health, longevity, and quality of life will be severely reduced.
If we do not act promptly, plastic waste and nylon bags will completely destroy the Earth and human life.
The above statistics may not make many people startled or afraid because everyone thinks it is far away, it "leaves us alone". However, every day in Vietnam, nearly 400 people die from cancer. The serious consequences of global climate change (Covid-19 pandemic, floods, forest fires, air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution...) once again sound the red alarm bell about the current state of environmental pollution.
10,000 Dai Nam students join hands to set a record for creating the Earth with recycled waste
In order to educate awareness and raise responsibility for environmental protection among staff, lecturers and students; deeply spread the message of joining hands to fight global climate change in the community; respond to Earth Day April 22, 2021, aiming to completely eliminate plastic bags and single-use plastic products in all school activities, Dai Nam University organizes a traditional camping program with the theme "For a green future".
Project to donate 10,000 plastic bottles to make an Earth globe from recycled waste.
Sharing about the program, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal, Head of the Movement Board emphasized: “ It only takes us 1 second to throw away, but plastic waste and nylon bags take hundreds, thousands of years to decompose. Their consequences for the environment are truly terrible. If we do not act promptly, plastic waste and nylon bags will completely destroy the Earth and human life…”
One of the highlights in the series of activities of the Traditional Camping Festival - For a Green Future program of Dai Nam University is the project to donate 10,000 used plastic bottles to set a record for creating the earth with recycled waste.
Immediately after its launch, the Project received enthusiastic participation from students from all faculties in the school.
Outside of class hours, Dai Nam students collect used plastic bottles from homes, neighborhood groups, shops, garbage collection points, etc. and bring them to the receiving locations at two facilities and hand them over to the school's Youth Volunteer Team.
All the plastic bottles collected will be used by students to make a 3.5 m high Earth globe, weighing nearly 50 kg, and displayed on the school campus.
