“Fire up PR” – an experiential field trip for teachers and students of the Communication Department of Dai Nam University

If someone asks me: "How much is youth worth?". I will not hesitate to answer: "At Dai Nam, my youth is priceless". I will always remember the passionate study hours with my friends, the night practice sessions, the days of "plowing" deadlines until almost dawn. I will not forget the field trips with our Faculty of Communication, where teachers, students, and friends are closer than ever. We get to study, play, laugh, cry together, and love each other incredibly. "Fire up PR" - Moc Chau April 2021, is such a trip!

The real event “Fire up PR” left a strong impression on me and my friends with a series of activities that brought many different emotions: excitement in team building games, relaxation during field trips, learning in professional seminars, warmth in the gala dinner and love and emotional tears in the campfire night.

Moc Chau welcomed us on a windy day at the end of April. The sweet late spring sunshine penetrated through the plum trees laden with fruit waiting to ripen. Goodbye to the dust of the city, Moc Chau was fresh and green like a painting.

Our group stayed in a resort full of plums and flowers with a very easy-to-love name: “Dai Yem Waterfall Eco farm” – a unique ecological area with stilt houses, tree hills, streams, flowers, tea and wine. Located right next to Dai Yem Waterfall, a famous tourist area of Moc Chau, from the resort you can see the white waterfall and enjoy the murmuring sound of the mountains and forests.

Team building is the first activity of the trip with exciting, attractive and exciting games. Although the games are simple, they require techniques and coordination of teammates. Team building activities demonstrate the efforts of our teachers and students in building the content, form and rules of the games. Three challenging stages, including: Media Chopstick, Media Journey and PR Ball, all games are inspired by PR, media as the main theme.

We divided into 2 teams. The red shirt team was named: “Victory” with the strong slogan: “Victory is victory”. Besides, the blue shirt team was not far behind with a very catchy name: “Green banana” and the fierce slogan “Determined to be green”.

With the first stage - "Media chopstick", the message that the Faculty of Communication wants to convey to students is that when facing each difficulty, there needs to be a spirit of solidarity, the leadership ability of the team leader through each step, along with the ingenuity of the team members to overcome the challenge.

Stage 2 - "Communication Journey", members realize the importance of solidarity and intelligence of each member because the PR journey is an arduous journey and it emphasizes understanding and sharing among members because a machine that wants to operate well needs close connections from the links.

Overcoming the challenge of stage 3 - "PR Ball", each member will understand that each person working in communications will have their own passion but cannot complete it alone but must have the combination and solidarity of the whole team to turn their own passion into a common passion.

At the end of the 3 stages, looking at the bright smiles on the faces of both Green Banana and Victory teams, we can see that Team Building has brought us extremely refreshing moments. The secret prize of the program will be revealed in the Gala dinner program.

Following the activities in Moc Chau is the Seminar on "Communication to promote high-quality agricultural development and local tourism" taking place at the People's Committee of Moc Chau district.

Teachers and students of the Faculty of Communication acquired a lot of knowledge in the professional seminar.

During the discussion, Mr. Nguyen Duc Nguyen - Head of the Propaganda Department of Moc Chau District Party Committee shared a lot of useful information about the District's active communication activities to promote the development of high-tech agriculture and local tourism. Moc Chau is transparent in all information through a variety of information channels: website, fanpage, youtube. The content of the news channel is also rich, suitable for many different customer groups, especially young people.

For each of us students, the discussion was a valuable sharing and practical lessons about the communication activities of the state government, one of the communication activities that is familiar but very difficult to understand and exploit.

The next activity was the Gala Dinner. The “Fire up PR” Gala Dinner took place in a close, cozy and extremely familiar space. In this space, we no longer had distance. I saw my father’s figure in my teacher’s smile. I saw my mother’s image in her kindness. I saw my blood brothers in the feelings filled with friendship. With strong glasses of wine, we had somehow become a family. Full of love!

During the Gala Dinner, the most special activity was the Minigame “Who is that person” which tested students’ ability to recognize teachers in the details cut from the character’s photo. Although the images were intentionally made difficult to guess, the students in the Faculty were still able to recognize all of their teachers.

Leaving the Gala stage, we held hands around the red fire. As the space of the Northwest forest night descended, when there was enough intimacy, it seemed that the emotions also became deeper and warmer.

Don’t forget the Team building award. This is probably the part that we all look forward to. Because the gifts revealed are all attractive snacks of our students. Everyone’s face waiting for the award is bright and joyful.

And finally, in the moments of parting, exchanging the most intimate words is also the moment of tears. Tears of regret and longing of final year students, when there is not much time left with friends and teachers. Sometimes, as the years pass, we suddenly realize how much love there is. Sometimes, busy with studying, working part-time, with everyday things, when the time comes to part, we realize how heavy our hearts are, how much we miss them.

K11, you are no longer studying but the teachers are still here, the faculty is always there, please grow up, live passionately and wholeheartedly, be worthy of the love and care of our teachers of the Faculty of Communication!

Fire up PR – Ignite the media fire, ignite the burning passion of youth. The colorful and emotional reality show gives us students a lot of motivation.

For us, spending our youth with dedicated teachers and loving friends is a strong source of motivation to be more passionate about our profession and more passionate about our youth.
