The strong development of Fintech globally and in Vietnam in recent times is not only a symbol of the digital economic revolution but also poses an urgent need for high-quality human resources. To meet this challenge, universities are playing a key role in training a generation of Fintech graduates who are not only professionally strong but also internationally integrated.

DNU International Scientific Conference: “Diamond” Platform for Fintech Education

With the aim of connecting global knowledge and improving training capacity, Dai Nam University organized an international scientific conference with the theme “The development of Fintech and its social impacts – International experiences and implications for Vietnam”. The conference is not only a forum for academic exchange but also a bridge between researchers, lecturers, Fintech businesses and management agencies.

The workshop attracted more than 200 delegates, including leading Fintech experts, representatives of banks, financial technology companies, and policy makers.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thanh Tam - National Economics University commented: “ This international conference is extremely important. Lecturers in the field get to meet partners, research specialists around the world, practitioners, policy makers,... this forum is a place where “studying for 10 years is not as good as listening to someone say one sentence”. Students see career opportunities for themselves, see future prospects. For scientific research, this is a very good networking place, smart financial consumers can also learn a lot.”

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Ngoc Duc, Director of the Institute of Financial Technology, Dai Nam University, shared: “By participating in this workshop, the University hopes that students and parents will have a better understanding of Fintech, in order to choose a promising career in the future. Secondly, the workshop will listen to experts sharing experiences from countries around the world to further improve the training program, making the training program closer to reality, up-to-date, meeting the requirements of Fintech development in Vietnam in the future. Thirdly, the forum is for domestic and foreign scientists and experts to meet, share, update knowledge, enhance the scientific position of Dai Nam University as well as encourage teachers to actively participate in scientific research, contributing to improving the quality of training”.

Fintech Training at Dai Nam University: Three Strategic Advantages

From the 2024-2025 school year, Dai Nam University officially enrolls students in the Financial Technology major with three outstanding features:

1. Training in Vietnamese: The program uses Vietnamese to ensure that students master specialized knowledge from the beginning, especially convenient for new fields like Fintech.

2. Combining theory and practice: Dai Nam University applies a practical training model that accounts for 50% of study time. Students not only study theory in the morning but also practice in the afternoon in modern labs.

3. Connected with businesses: Right from the first years, students are given the opportunity to participate in internships at Fintech companies, gain practical exposure and be equipped with solid foundations for their careers.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Ngoc Duc commented: "We build a Fintech training program that is close to reality so that students are prepared when they graduate so they can start working immediately without having to spend time on training, and without posing risks to the units that accept students to work."

Meeting the human resource needs of the future

The Fintech industry in Vietnam is expected to continue to boom in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution. However, to maintain sustainable development, universities need to invest heavily in substantial training.

Dr. Nguyen Tu Anh - Head of Department, Director of the Center for Information, Analysis and Forecast, Central Economic Committee of the Party affirmed: "For graduates to be accepted by the market, the connection between universities and Fintech companies is very important. Students need to practice right at universities, keeping up with the rapid changes of the technology industry."

Dr. Luong Thai Bao - Institute of Banking and Finance, National Economics University, talked about the positive future of this profession: “Currently, the supply and demand for Fintech personnel in general and personnel in the banking and finance industry in particular with knowledge of Fintech are growing rapidly. Students who are trained in Fintech all have job opportunities in traditional Fintech companies, in financial institutions, in the financial market. In addition, they can still apply to work at traditional businesses using Fintech technology or digital transformation, which requires both financial and technological knowledge.”

International Exchange: Towards the Global Market

Prof. Jo-Hui Chen, Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan, highly appreciated the training strategy of Dai Nam University: “In addition to Fintech, students need to be equipped with more knowledge about artificial intelligence (AI) and participate in international exchange programs to expand global connections.”

His advice opens up prospects for international cooperation, helping Dai Nam students integrate into the regional and global Fintech market.

Connecting knowledge – Winging the future

The international scientific conference at Dai Nam University not only marks a big step forward in Fintech training but also demonstrates the long-term vision of the school. The future of Fintech in Vietnam is wide open, with strategic steps, Dai Nam University is committed to training a generation of talents to meet the strict demands of the market, contributing to affirming Vietnam's position on the world Fintech map. Dai Nam is committed to providing a quality learning environment, where students not only learn to know but also learn to do, learn to succeed.
