Female DNU IT Bachelor is one of 90 excellent valedictorians selected by Hanoi City to be honored in 2021

Not only did she excel in becoming the valedictorian with a score of 9.0/10 from Dai Nam University, Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong - a new Bachelor of Information Technology (IT) - also made many people admire her when she was retained at the school as a lecturer right after graduating and was one of 90 excellent valedictorians graduating from universities and academies in Hanoi in 2021 to be commended.

In the 6th year, Dai Nam University has an excellent Valedictorian chosen by Hanoi City to be honored.

With a score of 9.0/10, Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong - K11, Faculty of Information Technology, surpassed thousands of students to become the Valedictorian of Dai Nam University and was approved by the Hanoi Youth Union for the selection and honor of the excellent Valedictorian graduating from universities and academies in the city in 2021.

This is also the 6th year Dai Nam University has had an excellent Valedictorian chosen by Hanoi City to be honored.

Sharing about this honor, Thu Phuong could not hide her happiness: “I used to admire the people who were honored. I never thought that one day I would also have this honor. I feel like I am being “compensated” after a long time of striving and training.”

Falling in love with IT from a dreamy thought during high school

Phuong was drawn to the IT industry from a 'dreamy' thought when she was a student, when this subject was taught by a handsome teacher. Impressed by his appearance and the field of study he was pursuing, that was the motivation for her to enroll in the IT Faculty of Dai Nam University.

“I still hoped that when I went to university, I would see handsome male friends every day. Who would have thought that when I went to university, I would become the ‘male god’ of the male friends in my class,” Phuong humorously shared.

What others can not do, I can still do.

Studying in an environment that is "selective" towards girls, Phuong said she could not avoid pressures, such as: a dry learning environment with many boys, a large amount of homework, often having to stay up late, having to "stick" her face to the computer 24/7, not having much time to take care of herself...

However, in return, Phuong received enthusiastic help and sharing from the male classmates because she was one of the three most beautiful "roses" in the IT class 11-01. In particular, the IT teachers were very understanding, always accompanying and sharing with students not only in studying but also in life.

During her studies at Dai Nam University, the female valedictorian always received love, care and help from teachers and friends.

“The teachers are always ready to listen, give me the most suitable advice, help me balance my emotions, allocate time more reasonably, and give me the motivation to study and strive. That is why I always feel happy and motivated during the 4 years of studying at the Faculty of Information Technology DNU…”, Thu Phuong shared.

In addition to listening to lectures and interacting in class, Phuong also explores and finds solutions to difficult questions and problems.

In addition, the female valedictorian also actively cultivates practical knowledge through many different information channels, absorbing from friends, teachers, experts, newspapers, and books. Applying for a part-time job at a technology company also helped Phuong better understand the working process of a business. Thanks to that, Phuong's professional knowledge has also gradually increased.

“ I chose to work part-time at technology companies because it is in line with my major. This part-time job helps me earn money and gain knowledge and experience for myself. And this is also one of the valuable pieces of advice that teachers of the DNU IT department share with us students…” Phuong said.

It is her determination and relentless efforts that have helped Thu Phuong achieve worthy results when she won the School's Excellent and Good scholarships for 4 consecutive years. Not only that, the girl born in 1999 also received the international ACA (Adobe Certified Associate) Graphic Design Certificate in 2019 and 2020.

Actively participate in school activities.

However, in order to avoid becoming a 'bookworm', Phuong is also very diligent in participating in movement activities and volunteer programs of the school and locality. During her time studying, she was known as an energetic, enthusiastic and responsible Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union.

Phuong said that the two women who have had the greatest influence on her are her mother and Ms. Pham Thi To Nga – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Information Technology at Dai Nam University. The 22-year-old girl learned from her teacher, such as dedication, enthusiasm, knowing how to listen, share, teamwork skills… and talented leadership.

Sharing about her upcoming plans, the female valedictorian said that she will continue to move forward on the path of learning and research. Besides teaching, Phuong will embark on a technology project that she has been thinking about and planning for a long time.
