Many businesses today are forced to recruit human resources from other majors for PR positions, due to a serious shortage of human resources in the right PR major.

In the late 2000s, in Vietnam, PR was a new and young profession but was ranked by the press as one of the 10 “Hottest” professions in the labor market. Realizing the wide development opportunities of this field of study, Dai Nam University pioneered the opening of the Public Relations and Communications major, becoming one of the first universities to train in PR.

From the reality of thirst for professional and methodical PR human resources…

On the journey of building, existing and developing, agencies, businesses and organizations need a team of professional human resources to carry out the work of building and promoting the brand to convey messages to customers, increase market share and affirm the brand. The PR industry is really attractive, of course, to be successful in the industry requires learners to be equipped, cultivate the necessary knowledge - skills and experience through "real people, real work" activities.

Many businesses today are forced to recruit people from other majors for PR positions, due to a serious shortage of PR-specialized people. Companies are forced to recruit people from majors such as journalism, foreign languages, economics or trained through short-term courses, and there are even people who work in PR but have never attended any PR training course.

Therefore, job opportunities in the field of public relations will continue to expand in the future, especially in today's competitive market economy.

…To the trust, choice and companionship of young people

Grasping that practical situation, in 2011, Dai Nam University was one of the first few universities to open the major of Public Administration and Information Technology.

Under the direction of the Board of Directors and the Board of Management, the Faculty builds a training program with an application and practice orientation. Graduates of the Public Relations and Communications major are capable of working as PR officers and staff in media companies; PR officers and staff in units and organizations with PR, advertising and communication departments. In addition, trainees also have a wide adaptability to be able to perform work responsibilities at agencies and units related to PR and communications expertise.

The Faculty of Public Administration and Information Technology actively organizes seminars and scientific research for students.

Since 2015, the Faculty has developed and continued to supplement the group of skills training courses and invited experts who are working in practice to directly teach in the direction of "hands-on instruction". Up to now, the Faculty of Public Administration and Information Technology has had 5 graduating classes. The results of the survey of alumni employment over the years show that 100% of graduates have jobs with starting salaries of 8-10 million VND/month. In particular, many alumni are holding key positions in enterprises with high benefits and promotion opportunities.

Because the training program is highly practical in skills, the human resource structure of the PR department also has its own characteristics. The permanent lecturers of the department are not only those with professional knowledge but also those who are working in businesses and media companies.

In the training program of specialized subjects, students do not learn by rote or learn theory but must apply theory flexibly to real situations. The exam format of specialized subjects does not test memorization but mostly exercises and products. The goal is that after the professional subjects, individuals or groups of students must know how to create a communication plan; know how to organize conferences, seminars, press conferences; know how to write and organize news, articles, produce multimedia communication products, etc.

In addition to enhancing students’ knowledge, skills and practical experience, the Faculty of Public Relations and Communications also pays special attention to promoting cooperation in training and providing human resources for large media companies. Cooperation agreements in training and providing human resources are signed to support students in their learning and experience, and to ensure that 100% of students have suitable jobs after graduation...

With its prestige and substantial training quality, the Faculty of Public Relations and Communication, Dai Nam University, has attracted many young people who love PR from all over the country. Typically, in 2019, the Faculty welcomed a large number of students to register and submit applications for this major.
