On September 13, at the Phu Lam campus's large hall, a fire-raising session was held by the Faculty of Foreign Languages with the enthusiastic participation of all new students of K11, Dai Nam University. The students listened to the sharing of English lecturers and experienced many interesting English learning activities to know how they will learn English at Dai Nam.

Through many games, the students also demonstrated their resilience and sensitivity to the international language and deeply understood the importance of English in the integration period. This is also the guiding principle in the school's training goals, not only training bachelors with good professional qualifications but also good foreign language skills to keep up with the trend.
Attending the fire-raising ceremony were representatives from the school, especially the presence of Mr. Dang Ngoc Huong, head of the department, Ms. Pham Thi Oanh, vice head of the department, and all lecturers of the Foreign Languages Department as a warmest welcome to the new students. The fire-raising ceremony not only oriented the students on effective English learning methods but also inspired love, eliminated the hesitation and fear of speaking English from the lecturers, who will directly teach the students in the coming school years.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Huong, head of the Foreign Languages Department, shared about the meaning of the fire-raising activity: “Every year, with the trust of the University, the Foreign Languages Department organizes a fire-raising event with a big message to the 11th grade students in particular and the students of the whole university in general that the youth are living in the era of integration and technology of the 4.0 revolution. Dai Nam University wishes and will create the best learning environment for them to have enough confidence in their future work and life.”
English is a subject that the school has invested heavily and systematically with a team of experienced lecturers. Not only are they solid in their profession, the teachers also demonstrate their ability to lead and inspire on stage enthusiastically and attract hundreds of students to participate in their speeches. Through this, the new students grasp the roadmap and goals of learning English at Dai Nam University, the difference between learning English at University and High School, and especially are shared about effective English learning methods while experiencing many on-site language learning activities. A large English class was filled with the wit, humor, and enthusiasm of the teachers, with hands raised continuously and many students performed excellently in the competitions, winning high prizes. With careful preparation, enthusiasm and determination to change teaching and learning methods in a new and positive way, the faculty of the Foreign Languages Department wants to send a message to new students: Learning English is not difficult, learning English is fun and as long as you have passion and practice regularly, you can all succeed.

One of the highlights of the motivational session was the speaking contest between faculties called “Big secrets- Secrets to learning English”. The students actively and proactively practiced speaking and after only three minutes, many of them memorized and were able to present fluently and clearly with enthusiastic cheers from their teammates in front of hundreds of spectators. With the closeness, enthusiasm and encouragement from the teachers, the students became more confident in themselves, dared to step on stage and express themselves.

To cultivate a new generation of students who are dynamic, proactive and good at foreign languages, the lecturers of the Foreign Language Department understand that creating confidence will be the driving force to help their beloved students succeed in the future. The team of foreign language lecturers will be pioneers in integration, always changing methods to make teaching and learning more and more effective. The lyrics of the song "LEARN TO CHANGE" resound as a conclusion to the new students, coming to Dai Nam, we will "learn to change our thoughts, to change our lives, bring the aspirations of our 20s to build the country together."
