Faculty of Construction and Architecture - A place to train future skilled engineers

The Faculty of Construction and Architecture of Dai Nam University is one of the four first faculties established by the University, with the motto of training construction engineers who are good at their profession, dedicated to their profession and meet the requirements set by construction practice. To help students better understand the Faculty and job opportunities after graduation, we would like to provide some introductory information about the Faculty and highlight some typical examples of success in the profession.
The Faculty of Construction and Architecture of Dai Nam University is one of the four first faculties established by the University, with the motto of training construction engineers who are good at their profession, dedicated to their profession and meet the requirements set by construction practice. To help students better understand the Faculty and job opportunities after graduation, we would like to provide some introductory information about the Faculty and highlight some typical examples of success in the profession.

II. Faculty of Construction and Architecture, Dai Nam University – Proud of training quality
We still know that: "A famous teacher produces a good student". That is why, since the feudal period, studious young people have sought out good teachers to study. Today, students always choose prestigious schools with good teachers to study, with the hope that after 4 to 5 years, they will not only have a university degree but also have a proper career to assert themselves. Understanding the concerns of the young generation, we, the leaders of the Faculty of Construction - Architecture, have improved the structure, built a team of staff and lecturers who are not only good at theory but also rich in practical experience, passionate about the profession, ready to impart everything they have to students, with the hope that after graduating, students will have enough skills to become a true construction engineer, an architect.
The school's permanent and guest lecturers are mainly Professors, Associate Professors, Doctors, Masters, Lecturers, Distinguished Teachers, People's Teachers, etc. with a lot of experience in teaching, scientific research serving production and dedicated to students.
Currently, the Faculty of Construction and Architecture trains two majors with many job opportunities: Civil and Industrial Construction Engineer and Architect. Each major has its own characteristics but operates in the same construction field, so they complement each other closely.
The Civil and Industrial Construction Department has been recruiting students since the 2nd course and is now preparing to welcome the 10th course. The Department has had 3 courses graduated and this June is the fourth course graduating. Most of the graduates have found jobs and are working in the right profession. In order to train a team of quality engineers, in addition to a team of highly qualified teachers, we have built a training program with basic, modern content, suitable for practical requirements so that after graduation, students have enough capacity to practice, can receive new calculation methods, advanced construction technologies that are constantly being innovated as well as study to achieve a higher level of education.
The training program includes the following knowledge blocks:
· Knowledge of natural sciences such as mathematics, physics, advanced chemistry, information technology and environment as well as other knowledge of society and humanities.
· Basic knowledge of properties and mechanical laws of construction materials, foundation materials and construction environment materials.
· Principles of calculation, testing of durability and stability of constructions.
· Theoretical basis of design methods, advantages and disadvantages of methods. Problems solved, problems that need further research and development trends.
· That is the basic knowledge for an engineer to have enough capacity to work as well as continue studying and researching to achieve a higher level of education.
·During the learning process, students are also trained in skills to After completing the training program, with the basic, modern, updated knowledge provided, along with experience and the desire to learn and explore, with time, they are fully capable of completing complex, rare and unpredictable tasks. With good observation skills, they are fully capable of detecting unreasonable problems to propose research tasks, improve, propose new solutions to improve quality and efficiency in design and construction.

- During the training process, Dai Nam University attaches great importance to enhancing students' English proficiency to develop their abilities after graduation.

III. Notable achievements of alumni of the Faculty of Construction and Architecture
Below is a summary of the initial results achieved by three classes of students graduating from the Construction major at Dai Nam University:
Most of the graduates have jobs in their majors with an average income of 8 - 12 million VND/month. They work in all regions of the country, from the beginning of Ha Giang to the end of Ca Mau. They work in state and private organizations: For example, Hong Ha Oil and Gas Construction Group, Vinaconex, Licogi, Viettel, Hanoi City Planning Research Institute, Barracks Management Department, General Department of Police of the Ministry of Public Security, Construction University Design Consulting Company... and many organizations and departments of provinces and districts... There have been students who have strived and succeeded after three years of graduation.
Students Nguyen Viet Khoa, Nguyen Viet Hung, Dang Ngoc Anh have graduated from the University of Construction, Do Ngoc Trung has studied for a master's degree from the University of Architecture, Nguyen Tien Hung is studying for a master's degree at the University of Transport, student La Manh Linh after three years of graduation has actively studied, strived and is now the Deputy Manager of the Xayaburi Hydropower Project - Laos. Below we would like to quote a few lines of thoughts from Engineer La Manh Linh - Former student of the first course of the Faculty of Construction - Architecture, Dai Nam University. After 3 years of graduation, he has strived, worked and is now the Deputy Manager of the Xayaburi Project Management Board - Laos.
“2008 was the most important milestone in my life, I entered Dai Nam University (DNU). That was also the time I remember most in my life. There I met my teachers Mr. Toai, Mr. Hau, Ms. Ngan - the first teachers of the university gate who supported and helped me with everything from the time I was still confused. From there, I began to get acquainted with the subjects of the construction industry - the profession that seemed to be attached to me, first in advanced mathematics, general physics, mechanics of solids, deformation mechanics, fluid mechanics, loose environment mechanics, soil mechanics, foundations and foundations, reinforced concrete, steel, construction engineering... then the major assignments, projects of the subjects, internships in the laboratory and on the construction site... Those memories are unforgettable to me. I don't know since when I fell in love with my construction profession.
