Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan - "Cold on the outside, warm on the inside" lecturer, strict but full of love

With more than two decades of dedication to education, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan has become a light for the future of many generations of students. She is not only a talented teacher but also a mother and a friend who always accompanies students throughout their journey of learning and growing up.

Journey with Dai Nam University

With nearly 15 years of working at Dai Nam University, Ms. Xuan has left a deep impression on students and colleagues. After graduating from the Finance - Banking major at the National Economics University and having studied and worked in Australia, she chose to return to Vietnam to devote herself to the education career. For her, the university lecture hall is not only a place to impart knowledge but also a place to nurture the soul and foster dreams for the younger generations.

"The mother" is strict but warm

At first, many students felt intimidated by Ms. Xuan’s stern appearance. However, after class, they realized that behind her sternness was a heart of love and deep concern. She always emphasized the importance of discipline and training basic skills for students to confidently enter life.

Do Bach Duong - student of class KT15 - 01 shared: "I feel the love of a mother, a friend and a teacher in her. During my university years, she helped me overcome the pain of loss, helped me understand that love and sharing are the keys to moving forward in life. She is the teacher that I will forever be grateful to and remember with all my love and respect".

Ms. Xuan confided: “ I always need to balance between showing concern and empathy for students and setting clear standards. In general, closeness and strictness are not contradictory but can complement each other when implemented properly. A teacher who is both friendly and serious can become a trustworthy role model for students.”

Student's companion

For Ms. Xuan, being a homeroom teacher is not only a responsibility but also a passion and love for the students. She always wants to accompany the students throughout their university life, share the joys and sorrows, the difficulties and overcome them together.

Dang Thi Tam - student of class KT18 - 02 shared: " After a period of studying and interacting with her, I realized that she is not as difficult to approach as I thought. On the contrary, she is a lecturer who is very dedicated to her teaching profession, loves her students, and cares about our students' lives. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan has left me with many good impressions and I know that she does so only to make us better, to improve ourselves, to mature and progress."

With her powerful voice and serious style, at first many students thought she was “scary”. But no, she was always attentive, observant, and reminded us from the smallest things. In addition, Ms. Xuan's lectures were extremely engaging, and she often told real-life stories that changed the atmosphere of the classroom. Even when scolding, she had a way of speaking that made us feel convinced”.
