Don't let your self-worth be "molded" by other people.

In recent years, an unpleasant but extremely realistic reality is that personnel who used to work in state agencies when wanting to work outside the country all encounter difficulties due to the "head shaking" of human resource recruiters. Why?

Nowadays, when recruiting staff, private enterprises and even large foreign corporations in Vietnam are no longer too concerned about which university you graduated from; what is your diploma ranking? What they are especially interested in is who you are; what value you intend to create for our business; do you have enough knowledge - skills - experience and a good attitude to work and contribute long-term?

For experienced employees, business owners will be interested in your previous working environment. Accordingly, candidates who have worked in the private business environment are often favored because they have similarities in culture, capacity, qualifications and especially attitude. Most people who are trained in the private business environment are those who know how to create their own value, do not "rely on" anyone because they understand better than anyone that private enterprises are not "kindergartens" that are paid by the State, but the salary is earned by themselves!

Why do people who used to work in the State environment often lose points with employers? In reality, the subsidized environment and the old working mechanism have unintentionally created stagnation, passivity, working habits of "beating the drum to register", "going to work with a briefcase in the morning and coming home with a briefcase in the evening", "relying on", "relying on the value of others" (children of high-ranking officials) in many individuals...

Talking about self-worth may remind the author of this article of the wave of protests in the US in recent days after the death of a black man named George Floyd on May 25, 2020. Talking about the cause of these protests and riots, many people think that it is due to racism; that black people are being discriminated against, treated like trash by white people and are ready to be trampled on... However, we must not forget that former US President Obama is also black. And in the US, in reality, anyone with talent is respected and will be given the conditions to develop. I think that in order to avoid being despised and trampled on, there is no better way than to affirm your own value.
