DNU - the first university in Vietnam to include IT Internship in its training program

One of the biggest challenges for new Information Technology (IT) graduates is the lack of practical work skills. This limits their chances of finding good jobs, and can even affect their entire lives. Having practical experience will allow students to find stable, high-paying jobs that match their interests.
Officially include IT Internship in the training program
Starting from K15 (2021-2022 school year), IT students at Dai Nam University will study IT Internship. Dai Nam will be the first school in Vietnam to include this subject in the training program as a compulsory and independent subject. Every week, IT students will work at the Practice Workshop for 8 hours a day as a real engineer or technology researcher.
IT Internship is a 4-credit course that aims to teach students the technological knowledge and working skills necessary for students to work in software companies, technology research and development centers, projects and IT departments in enterprises. This knowledge and skills also allow students to gain a deep understanding of abstract concepts in subsequent subjects and later in graduate programs.
Dai Nam University is the first university to include IT Internship in its training program.
What do students get from the IT Internship?
In the first year, students will learn practical skills such as: Repairing and maintaining computers, mobile phones, office equipment; designing and managing LAN networks for businesses, installing, evaluating and instructing on the use of software applications; building online information pages, exploiting online resources for business, online advertising, building websites; installing security tools and troubleshooting computer and network problems.
In addition, students are also trained in some basic software testing skills, mastering software development tools and network administration.
After the first year, Dai Nam IT students can study for 3 more weeks to get a certificate to be fully qualified to work as IT technicians and application analysts at companies.
In the second year, students will continue to train the skills and become familiar with the tools needed to participate in real software development projects and study the most advanced technologies in practical subjects.
After the second year with more than 200 programming “flight hours”, students can get a “Programmer” certificate to start working part-time, earning income in cooperation programs with businesses or technology and product development projects of the Faculty.
In the third year, students will use design tools, patching, performance enhancement and will be taught practical techniques by experienced teachers to create good, intelligent software that meets practical needs.
At the end of the third year, students can obtain a “Designer” certificate to participate in software development projects in a more advanced role.
In the fourth year, students will learn practical skills and master system integration tools. Upon graduation from the 4-year program, in addition to the Bachelor's degree, students can take an exam to obtain a "System Architect" certificate. During their studies and after graduation, students can take additional short-term extracurricular technology expert training courses and use the School's internship facilities to obtain "Technology Expert" certificates in different directions.
The current leading technologies of multinational companies, such as: Cisco, Amazon, IBM, Microsoft, Google, ... will be trained with practical opportunities at Dai Nam in such short-term extracurricular training courses. These courses will be open to students from other schools, engineers who have worked for businesses and want to update their knowledge.
Thus, Dai Nam students will have the opportunity to interact and get acquainted with senior generations and friends from all over the world who come to Dai Nam to learn more professional skills at the school.
The IT Internship course was first implemented at Dai Nam University and is currently the only one in Vietnam, meeting the requirements of equipping IT students with experience and skills to work in the software industry. For students who want to continue their studies, the skills of self-research, development, testing and practical experience will be invaluable for the path to conquering the peaks of science and technology.
