“People are only successful when they have a good attitude and discipline. First of all, towards themselves and their families, then towards the organization - where we will live and work, then towards our homeland and country. Military discipline is a baggage that will follow people throughout their lives; it is a compass for each person's thoughts, perceptions and behaviors. Especially, in case the country needs it, when mobilized, the young generation will not feel bewildered by the military environment, will know how to hold a gun and aim straight at the enemy, protecting the country...”

That was emphasized by Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal of Dai Nam University at the First Extracurricular Training Test Sports Festival of the 2022 - 2023 school year.

In addition to training in professional knowledge, soft skills and foreign languages, Dai Nam University attaches special importance to training and educating students in National Defense - Security, aiming to: Educate patriotism, national pride - self-esteem; equip students with basic knowledge of national defense - security to be ready to "go" when the Fatherland needs; educate discipline, manners and conduct for students to develop comprehensively.

With the goal of creating favorable conditions and providing the best learning environment and experience for students, Dai Nam University has determined to implement "autonomy" in teaching National Defense - Security right at the school. The school has invested in building facilities (training grounds, dormitories, equipment - weapons...); training and fostering a team of qualified and sufficient permanent lecturers to best meet training needs.

Up to this point, Dai Nam University is one of the very few universities that are "autonomous" in teaching National Defense - Security.

After 2 years of interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Dai Nam University students are eager to experience military life with 1 month of "soldiering right at school".

Nearly 1 month of training, "bruising" with the sun and wind of the training ground and establishing strict military discipline. From innocent students who ate and slept "indiscriminately", now they have to follow "iron discipline in the army", eat on time, rest on time, practice according to plan regardless of sun or rain. In particular, "eliminating" individualistic and selfish lifestyles to integrate with the collective, enhancing the spirit of solidarity and mutual love.

After the first military training session, more than 300 "DNU soldiers" have achieved excellent results, bringing "eye-catching" performances at the Extracurricular Training and Test Sports Festival of the 2022-2023 school year.

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal of the School highly appreciated the efforts and achievements after nearly 1 month of studying and training of teachers and students of the Department of National Defense and Security Education.

The sports festival aims to test and evaluate the quality of study and national defense education training of Dai Nam University students; help young people clearly understand the role and responsibility of youth with the spirit of "Where there is a need, there is youth, where there is difficulty, there is youth".

"New recruits" of K14 are stronger and tougher after 1 month of studying and military training.

With the contents of the team parade, unarmed gymnastics, weapon disassembly, and beautiful folding of interior items; the "new recruits" of K14 of the Chinese Language and Culture Department showed clear changes after a month of training. The spirit of self-awareness and independence was enhanced, the working style was quick, serious, disciplined, and not afraid of difficulties or hardships.

The young soldiers performed a "satisfying" parade with straight ranks and uniform, decisive movements.

The military environment has trained the students to be careful and orderly. In particular, the health and youthfulness of the students are improved through each day of training. With high determination and constant striving, DNU soldiers always keep in mind the slogan: "Physical training - Building the Army; Physical training - Protecting the Fatherland".

Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen - student of class TT 14-08, Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture shared: "After 1 month of military training, I have changed a lot, become stronger and more mature. I feel more enthusiastic, motivated and have more faith in the Party and the State. I am grateful to the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University, teachers of the Faculty of National Defense and Security Education for creating all conditions for us to complete this meaningful semester".

24 hand gymnastic movements performed in unison and rhythm.

With great enthusiasm, the students showed the youth, health, joy, vitality and determination of soldiers.

Teacher and student record memorable moments.

Disassembling and assembling guns has become as familiar as eating and drinking water for DNU students.

The "specialty" of folding blankets neatly and squarely is no longer difficult for boys and girls.

The soldiers excitedly recorded memorable moments of their student days.

One month of training has further fostered love for the country and national pride in the young people.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tam awarded prizes to the competing teams.
