Training closely linked to practice and business needs has always been the "compass" in the training activities of Dai Nam University in general and the Faculty of Finance and Banking in particular. Implementing that training policy, on the morning of April 19, the Faculty of Finance and Banking successfully organized the Scholarship Award Ceremony and the Workshop on digital banking - one of the new and highly topical fields for the development trend of the finance and banking sector in the future.

The Ceremony attracted the attention of many staff, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University. In particular, the program also had the participation of leading experts in the field of finance and banking from Shinhan Bank Vietnam - Ha Dong branch (Hanoi).

5 excellent students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking received Shinhan Bank scholarships.

Previously, on December 21, 2018, Dai Nam University and Shinhan Bank Vietnam signed a memorandum of cooperation to sponsor scholarships. Accordingly, Shinhan Bank will award 5 scholarships/semester to students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking with excellent academic achievements.

On the morning of April 19, 2019, the Faculty of Finance and Banking held a Scholarship Award Ceremony and a Digital Banking Workshop at Phu Lam Campus – Ha Dong. The first 5 outstanding students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking and the Faculty of Accounting were honored to receive scholarships from Shinhanbank.

Dr. Le The Anh - Head of the Faculty of Finance and Banking presented flowers and thanked Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong for giving the opportunity to cooperate with the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University.

Student Duong Thi Quyen (TC - DN 09-01 class) shared: “ This annual scholarship fund is truly a great source of encouragement and motivation for us. It is the motivation for us to constantly strive to achieve high results in studying, scientific research and towards success in the future…”

Digital banking - the "promised land" for Finance - Banking students

Right after the Scholarship Award Ceremony was the Digital Banking Workshop. Speaking at the workshop, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong - Director of Shinhan Bank Vietnam - Ha Dong Branch said: “ Digital banking is a new issue, highly topical for the development of the banking system in the context of technology explosion. It is both an interface providing utilities, improving the relationship between customers and banks, and a means to create competitive advantages between banks…”

Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong - Director of Shinhan Bank Vietnam shared about the digital banking model at the workshop.

Students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University asked experts about the digital banking model.

According to Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong, the development of digital technology requires training institutions for human resources in finance and banking to change quickly, in the right direction and strongly to meet the practical needs of society. Students majoring in Finance and Banking need to approach and understand digital banking right from their school days so as not to be surprised when entering the real environment.

Students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University practice transactions and improve communication skills and work with customers at the school's Practice Center.

Dr. Le The Anh - Head of the Faculty of Finance - Banking, Dai Nam University said: Facing new challenges, the Faculty of Finance - Banking has a roadmap to apply digital banking in teaching and training; actively reviewing and innovating programs and teaching methods to improve knowledge, professional skills and give students practical experience right from the first year; upgrading infrastructure, building a Center for Practice of Finance - Banking and Accounting - Auditing so that lecturers and students can be more proactive in practical learning...

Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong visited and answered students' questions during the Professional Practice session at the Finance-Banking Practice Center.

“Innovation in the direction of digital technology is an inevitable trend of financial and banking human resource training institutions, helping students “catch the wave” in time with the actual requirements of businesses. In addition to training knowledge, skills and experience, the Faculty of Finance and Banking also pays special attention to training soft skills and foreign languages for students…”, said Dr. Le The Anh.
