On the morning of December 9, the forum on building a national brand for Vietnam's banking and financial technology was held at the ICC International Conference Center. The program was attended by leaders of the Finance - Banking Faculty of Dai Nam University.

The forum was chaired by Dr. Vo Tri Thanh, Director of the Institute for Brand Strategy and Competitiveness (BCSI). The program had the participation of: Dr. Nguyen Tri Hieu, Banking and Finance Expert; MSc. Pham Xuan Hoe, Former Deputy Director of the Banking Strategy Institute - State Bank of Vietnam; Dr. Can Van Luc, Member of the National Financial and Monetary Policy Advisory Council.

Receiving the invitation, Associate Professor, Dr. Dam Van Hue - Head of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University, along with a delegation of staff and lecturers attended the forum.

At the workshop, experts said that it is necessary to pay attention to building and perfecting the legal corridor to manage Fintech activities according to an open approach but with risk control, and a mechanism for sharing information and data at different levels.

According to the forum's statistics, Fintech banking and financial technology in Vietnam has achieved impressive growth, from 74 companies in 2017 to more than 160 companies by 2020. Along with that, Vietnam currently has many advantages in developing Fintech: a large domestic market with much room for development; a relatively young population and a high number of smartphone users.

Mr. Pham Xuan Hoe, former Deputy Director of the Banking Strategy Institute - State Bank of Vietnam, stated that converting operational processes towards digitalization is a requirement in the current context for banks.

“Certainly, commercial banks will have to and must re-examine their vision and management strategies in the digital age. Banks are forced to invest heavily in technology, first of all, they need to focus on developing the Core Banking system, to integrate multiple channels to provide for customers. That is the story of investment,” Mr. Pham Xuan Hoe affirmed.

Through the forum, the leaders of the Banking and Finance Department affirmed the importance and the right direction in applying Core Banking software into teaching practice. This will help to experience the work of a real bank employee right from the classroom and be confident in the ability to work immediately after graduation.

At the same time, applying core banking software in classrooms also saves time training personnel for banks and businesses.

On the afternoon of December 10, 2020, Dai Nam University officially signed a cooperation agreement to deploy a practical banking system with TTF Technology Solutions Joint Stock Company (TTF Solution). Up to now, the Faculty of Finance and Banking of Dai Nam University is the first unit in the North to deploy Core Banking software of the famous software company Temenos - Switzerland into actual teaching and training of students.
