"Decoding" 100% of IT students at Dai Nam University have jobs while still in school

“Enhancing the maximum experience between learning and practice in the classroom and in the business” is the training motto that is being applied vigorously and effectively at the Faculty of Information Technology (IT) of Dai Nam University (DNU). Accordingly, DNU has not spared any money in investing in building 03 IT internship workshops, modern AI and IoT Labs following the working model of large IT corporations and continuously cooperating with large IT enterprises for students to practice and intern right from the first year and throughout the entire learning process. This is one of the important factors contributing to the rate of 100% of DNU IT students having jobs in their major with high remuneration right from when they were still in school.

Clear practice and internship roadmap in 3.5 years of study

According to Dr. Tran Dang Cong - Head of the IT Department: In addition to logical thinking, practical skills play a very important role for IT students. If they do not practice their skills regularly, students will certainly "fall behind" and quickly be eliminated from the IT industry.

Therefore, the IT training program of Dai Nam University is built in accordance with the content of the subjects "IT practice in workshops, laboratories, computer rooms". Ensuring that 100% of students can start working right away while still in school.

Practice and internship are mandatory requirements for IT students.

Right from the first year, students have studied IT Internship 1 - Computer systems at the practice workshop. Entering the second semester, students are assigned to the subject IT Internship 2 - Web Design and Software System Implementation. The third semester is IT Internship 3 - Front End Design and Programming.

In semester 4, students practice with the subject IT Internship 4 - Back-End Programming Design. Semester 5 is the subject IT Internship 5 - IoT and AI application deployment. Students get acquainted with the subject IT Internship 6 - Server configuration installation, application deployment in semester 6.

In semester 7, students “get started” on the IT Internship 7 – Business Internship. For this subject, students experience the business environment, business information management systems such as ERP, HRM… at the IT internship workshop. After completing the IT Internship 7, students continue to experience the graduation internship at the enterprise. This internship is a continuation of the IT Internship 7 subject.

Modern internship workshop, AI and IoT lab, fully meeting students' vocational training needs

Understanding the importance of practical training in student training, Dai Nam University has invested heavily in building IT practice workshops. Accordingly, 03 IT practice workshops are designed as real working rooms of enterprises with equipment systems, high-speed Internet network systems, computers, projectors; equipment for configuring and installing office network systems, Analog Camera systems, IP Cameras, etc. Fully meeting the learning and practice needs of students.

The workshop is designed like a real business office with full modern equipment.

For each subject of “IT Practice at the Internship Workshop”, students will be directly guided by experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic lecturers. Each internship module is designed by lecturers as a practical tutorial. After learning the theory and watching the lecturers perform, students will practice the Lab right on the computer. The lecturer will accept and evaluate the results right in the lesson.

In particular, with the investment of the School, the AI and IoT Lab is where lecturers and students research and develop ideas to form technological solutions on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and integration between AI and IoT technologies. Problems on Smart City, Smart Agriculture, Smart Traffic System are implemented from models, small problems to larger problems.

Through research and practice, students develop their bold, rich and practical ideas and freely explore technological solutions. Students gain experience, gain experience and especially create the seeds for start-up and innovative ideas right from school.

During their studies, students are also connected to internships at leading IT companies in the country and abroad by the Faculty of Information Technology and the Center for “Startup and Student Employment”. Not only do they meet and receive guidance from a team of technology experts, but they also use specialized equipment and software in the IT field.
