Dai Nam University trains international standard semiconductor technology engineers, leading the way in Vietnam's strategic industry.

In the context of the global semiconductor industry booming and Vietnam being oriented to become a strategic destination for large technology corporations, Dai Nam University (school code DDN) has officially opened the Semiconductor Technology major from the 2024-2025 school year, and announced the expansion of enrollment quotas in 2025. This is a strategic step to train a generation of high-quality engineers, ready to join the global high-tech supply chain.
Semiconductor industry: the “heart” of the digital age
From smartphones to self-driving cars to artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor technology is at the core of every technology product. IC Insights forecasts that global demand for semiconductor talent will grow at double-digit rates each year over the next decade.
In Vietnam, the semiconductor industry is identified as a key sector. Many large corporations such as Intel, Samsung, Amkor, Hana Micron, etc. are accelerating production expansion, leading to the need to recruit thousands of engineers each year. However, according to estimates, Vietnam currently only meets about 20% of the human resource demand in this industry.
Professional training – International links – Global degrees
Not simply opening a major, Dai Nam University has chosen a systematic approach: cooperating with prestigious technology schools and large enterprises from Taiwan - the place with the leading semiconductor ecosystem in Asia. Students studying the Semiconductor Technology program here will be trained according to the international cooperation model, studying bilingually with the participation of Vietnamese and international lecturers.
In particular, students can receive international degrees right in Vietnam at a reasonable cost. The program also integrates internships at large technology companies, with support levels of up to 1,000 USD/month. In addition, students have the opportunity to receive scholarships and tuition support from partner schools and the Taiwanese Government.
Semiconductor Technology Transfer Center – Where learning goes hand in hand with work
An important highlight is the Semiconductor Technology Transfer Center invested in by Dai Nam University as a modern learning and research space. Here, students have access to the process of simulating the design, manufacturing and testing of microchips; practice on equipment that meets international standards and participate in specialized courses such as:
+ Design of digital systems and integrated circuits.
+ Semiconductor physics, circuit board design.
+ Digital logic programming, digital and analog microcircuit simulation
At the same time, students participate in technology transfer projects with lecturers and leading experts - creating conditions to apply theory into practice during the learning process.
Wide open career opportunities – Ready to join the global supply chain
In the 2025-2026 school year, Dai Nam University will expand its enrollment quota for the Semiconductor Technology major, while giving priority to candidates with a development orientation in the high-tech field and a global mindset. In addition to the training program, students are also connected to a network of domestic and foreign businesses and are supported with early career orientation.
Surveys from businesses show that: Semiconductor graduates can earn 215-500 million VND/year; for experienced engineers, income can exceed 1.3 billion VND/year.
The Study of the Future – Starting Today
In the context of Vietnam gradually building its position in the global value chain of the semiconductor industry, choosing the right major and training environment will be the deciding factor in the future career.
With a clear strategic orientation, international standard training programs and a learning ecosystem associated with businesses, Dai Nam University is affirming its pioneering role in training semiconductor engineers - the core force for a high-tech Vietnam in the future.
