Dai Nam University trains in Medicine

With experience in organizing training in the health sector (Pharmacy and Nursing), to develop new sectors, after nearly three years (since 2017) of preparing conditions for training in Medicine, Dai Nam University has been officially assessed by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Training and allowed to enroll undergraduate students in Medicine from the 2020-2021 school year according to Decision No. 87/QD-BGDDT.

Dai Nam University officially started training in Medicine from 2020.

Sharing about the policy of training in the field of Medicine, Mr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University said: Dai Nam University is a university providing multi-disciplinary training services with the core training axis being the protection and care of community health. With nearly 10 years of experience in organizing training in the health sector (University Pharmacy and Nursing), Dai Nam has attracted thousands of students. Over the years, the school has always made constant efforts to improve the quality of training and expand the health sector's majors based on its potential experience, staff, facilities, and available laboratories.

The Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University, has been invested in building a synchronous structure, training program, staff - lecturers, system of laboratories, practice rooms, clinical practice system at major hospitals in Hanoi, learning resources...

The organizational structure of the Faculty of Medicine includes the following departments: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Gynaecology.

The training program of the Faculty of Medicine is built according to CDIO, based on the medical doctor competency standards issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health in 2014, while meeting the needs of integration into the regional and world high-level medical human resources market.

“The training program is designed for 6 years with 12 main semesters and 200 credits (excluding National Defense Education and Physical Education). The training program has been built with 154 professional knowledge credits, of which 29 are basic knowledge credits, 114 are industry knowledge credits, and the core subjects of Medicine are Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, and Pediatrics, accounting for 79 credits. In addition, the training program also equips students with general English knowledge (level 3/6) and specialized English. Students are allowed to participate in scientific research right from the first years of the course (after being equipped with basic medical knowledge). Dai Nam University pays special attention to selecting a team of lecturers with extensive experience in training in the medical field: 07 Associate Professors, 8 PhDs and 34 Masters. The permanent lecturers of the Faculty of Medicine are highly qualified medical experts, managers, lecturers, and highly qualified doctors from leading hospitals and medical universities in Vietnam. In addition, more than 100 guest lecturers who are highly qualified staff from grade I and special grade hospitals in Vietnam also participate in teaching the medical training program of Dai Nam University.

The Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University has a system of modern facilities, laboratories and practices, a professional learning environment, combining learning with practice right at school and at hospitals.

Specifically: The Faculty of Medicine has 14 practice rooms according to regulations, meeting the training requirements for Basic Science, Basic Medicine and Preclinical subjects including Physics - Biophysics, Physiology, Pathophysiology - Immunology, Anatomy, Embryology, Pathology, Microbiology - Parasitology, Nursing, Preclinical Center, Nutrition and Food Safety... The Faculty of Medicine also uses the laboratories of the Nursing Faculty, Pharmacy Faculty and the system of lecture halls, libraries, training grounds, and dormitories of the school.

Students of the Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University, have a modern facility system that ensures learning goes hand in hand with practice.

Identifying clinical practice (hospital bed) as a decisive factor in the quality of medical training, the Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University has cooperated in training according to Decree 111/2017/ND-CP with special-class and class I hospitals such as: Viet Duc Hospital, Central Children's Hospital, Hanoi Heart Hospital, Thanh Nhan Hospital, Central Psychiatric Hospital... ensuring clinical practice facilities for all clinical modules.

In addition to specialized knowledge in Medicine, students of the Faculty of Medicine of Dai Nam University are trained in soft skills and foreign languages according to TOIEC standards and specialized English for professional practice.
