Dai Nam University: The first facility licensed by the Hanoi Department of Health to provide training and update professional knowledge in Pharmacy

With the permission of the Hanoi Department of Health, on May 12, Dai Nam University opened its first course to train and update professional knowledge in Pharmacy. This is the first facility in the Northern region to be licensed by the Hanoi Department of Health to train and update professional knowledge in Pharmacy.

According to the 2016 Pharmacy Law, effective from January 1, 2017, the Law stipulates that pharmacists must participate in a training program to update their professional knowledge of Pharmacy within three years from the date of being granted a Pharmacy practice certificate or from the date of receiving the most recent certificate of training to update professional knowledge of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy practice certificate is only valid or not revoked when there is a certificate of training and updating knowledge within the above period. Training and updating knowledge is both a right and an obligation of pharmacists.

In fact, to implement the new Pharmacy Law, Decree 54/2017 of the Government was issued along with a series of circulars guiding the regulations that require pharmacy practitioners to grasp in order to implement. On the other hand, the strong development of pharmaceutical science and technology has created many new drugs, many new dosage forms along with information about drugs such as Adverse Reactions (ARN), drug vigilance, withdrawal of registration, drug recall, etc., which are very necessary for pharmacy practitioners.

For the above reasons, pharmacists must be trained and updated in their professional knowledge of Pharmacy.

Dai Nam University is the first institution to train and update professional knowledge in Pharmacy.

Regarding the training program, updating professional knowledge on Pharmacy built by the Faculty of Pharmacy - Dai Nam University and approved by the Department of Health, it consists of 3 parts. Part one is specialized knowledge, including new dosage forms, new drugs and drug use. Part two is the law and professional management of Pharmacy, introducing the Pharmacy Law, Decree 54, circulars related to the scope of drug retail will be updated to the latest circular 01/2018 on drug labels 02/2018 on GPP instead of 46. Part three is techniques and skills serving the 3 activities of a pharmacy: buying drugs, selling drugs and preserving drugs.

In the first opening session of the Pharmacy professional knowledge update training course recently held at Dai Nam University, the class had 30 students, most of whom were seniors with university degrees or higher, including those who are currently Associate Professors, Doctors, etc. in the industry. In the teaching and learning training program, the reporters of the professional knowledge section are Associate Professors, Doctors in the industry and have management experience, with many years of practical work with pharmacies.

Professional lecturers are Associate Professors, Doctors in the industry and have management experience, with many years of practical experience working with pharmacies.

Students are people who are practicing Pharmacy, some are currently Associate Professors and Doctors in the industry.

Many older students have worked for many years in the pharmaceutical industry.
