Dai Nam University successfully held the International Conference AP16 Vietnam

Dai Nam University, in cooperation with SMMIMD and Global Business Research Journal, successfully held the international conference AP16 themed “Ensuring Rapid Economic Progress in Emerging Economies! Inclusive & Sustainable!!” from August 7 – 8. The conference attracted the participation of 38 scholars, researchers and experts from 13 countries such as the U.S, Japan, France, Belgium, Turkey, Taiwan, Vietnam.

Along with leaders and lecturers of Dai Nam University and scholars all over the world, the conference also had the presence of Dr. Le Dang Doanh - economic expert and former President of Central Institute of Economic Management, Dr. Elango Rengasamy – director of J.A.Alpha Business Research and Publishers; Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung – Head of Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education & Training; Mr. Phan The Hung – representative of Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education & Training.

          The conference was conducted in 7 sessions in the respective fields including the management marketing and education with 20 researches in 4 sessions, 1 session of global business with 6 researches, and 1 session of finance-banking with 6 researches. In session 7, the university also hosted 5 paper presentations of the research scholars.

In his speech, Dr. Le Dac Son - chairman of the board of DNU – stressed that “In a nutshell, ‘inclusive and sustainable economic growth’ is the only way to rapid economic progress. The conference makes an attempt to achieve the following objectives

a) Identify and analyze the major drivers of economic progress for the developing and emerging economies;

b) Systematically ascertain the most important contributory factors that would assure sustainable and inclusive economic growth;

c) Provide an ideal platform for researchers, economists, bankers and practitioners to share their research and practical experiences in all the major issues highlighted, as above;

d) Offer suitable solutions to ensure an orderly growth of the global economy and bring prosperity and sustainable economic development to the World, in the long-run.”

          In the conference, Dr. Le Dang Doanh summarized the economic growth of Vietnam in the last 20 years with many remarkable milestones such as the opening policy, the participation of WTO or important trade negotiations with countries. He also pointed out the potential obstacles and challenges that may hinder the sustainable development of Vietnam. Dr. Le Dang Doanh’s presentation has made a great impression for delegates of the conference.

        After two days of continuous and effective working, the international conference AP16 Vietnam has fulfilled its academic and practical tasks. The success of the conference is an attempt of Dai Nam University to contribute to the development of Vietnam and the world.
