Today (March 23), the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University organized a series of activities with the theme "Facing natural disasters - saving water and energy for life tomorrow".

At the program launching ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Trong Phuc, Principal of the school, said that the world is currently facing unpredictable changes in climate and environment, with a sudden increase in natural disasters. In particular, in Vietnam, the continuous appearance of bad phenomena such as El Nino, clean water sources are gradually depleted and especially the increase in saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta region is directly affecting the economy, society and quality of life of the Vietnamese people.

Mr. Phuc also said that most of the causes of the above phenomena originate from human activities, including: deforestation, indiscriminate exploitation of natural resources without planning. Industrial activities generate waste into the atmosphere and rivers, destroying Vietnam's diverse ecosystem and causing serious diseases for Vietnamese people. Human negligence and waste are threatening the lives and activities and production of millions of people around the world, including Vietnam.

To solve the above problems, raising awareness and understanding for people, especially for young people, is extremely important. Understanding the urgency of raising awareness, Dai Nam University has organized a program and a series of activities with the participation of students to raise their understanding of natural disasters and protect valuable resources such as water and energy for future life.

At the event, more than 1,000 students of Dai Nam University performed entertainment activities combined with educational propaganda. In particular, there was a puzzle recreating the dangers of natural disasters and floods to nature and human life. Folk games such as tug of war, carrying water and overcoming obstacles.
