Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Luong Cao Dong - Principal of Dai Nam University said that in the context of the 4th industrial revolution, information technology is a pioneering and key field. Therefore, when graduating, in addition to being equipped with professional skills, students need to be equipped with foreign language and computer skills. Office computer skills are one of the important factors determining their future success.

“Computer skills are practical knowledge for students after graduation. They are closely related to life, work and determine their future success,” Dr. Luong Cao Dong affirmed.

Attending the opening ceremony of the first MOSDNU competition, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal highly appreciated the purpose and meaning of the competition: " I did not think that so many students would participate. That proves that Dai Nam students are very progressive, responsible for themselves and their future careers ."

According to Ms. Cao Thi Hoa, to score points with employers and succeed in their jobs, students must be good at computer skills, including office computer skills. “Therefore, right from when they are still in school, students need to be proactive and continuously improve their knowledge of computer skills,” Ms. Cao Thi Hoa emphasized.

Sharing about the purpose of the first “MOSDNU Office Informatics Championship” contest, MSc. Pham To Nga - Deputy Head of the IT Department, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, said: “The contest is organized to raise awareness of the role and create conditions for Dai Nam University students to access office informatics skills according to international standards. At the same time, through the contest, new seeds are discovered and nurtured to be able to maintain and enhance the quality of the school's representative team participating in the national and international Office Informatics Championship contest…”

Accordingly, in the preliminary round on the morning of January 12, hundreds of students will participate in 2 theoretical and practical exams with 3 main contents: Word, Excel and Powerpoint of office informatics 2013 - quite new content and currently in popular use.

Quite confident in the preliminary round, Nguyen Manh Dung - K12 student, Faculty of Construction - Architecture shared: "I find this a very useful playground, helping us review, practice, and systematize our knowledge of office informatics. The competition is also an opportunity for us to participate in larger intellectual playgrounds, thereby cultivating and learning more new skills and experiences..."

Regarding the prize structure, the contest will award 1 first prize worth 2 million VND with a certificate of merit, 2 second prizes worth 1 million VND/prize with a certificate of merit, 2 third prizes worth 500,000 VND/prize and a certificate of merit and 5 consolation prizes worth 300,000 VND/prize with a certificate of merit.

The Board of Directors and the Organizing Committee took souvenir photos with the contestants participating in the first MOSDNU preliminary round.

Evaluating the quality of the contestants participating in this first competition, MSc. Pham To Nga said: “ The knowledge and expertise in office informatics of Dai Nam University students are quite good. Therefore, I hope that after this competition, we will select good seeds to participate in the national competition, and Dai Nam University students can be selected to participate in the International Office Informatics Championship”.
