This year, Dai Nam University has turned 10 years old and the school's grassroots football tournament for the Dai Nam Cup has been held for 5 years. According to Mr. Pham Hong Duc - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Dai Nam University, this year's tournament will have some changes to attract the attention of students in the school as well as other schools.

Last year, the tournament had 24 teams participating and after more than 1 month of competition, the Pharmacy team won the championship. This year, the Organizing Committee not only increased the number of participating teams from 24 to 32 teams but also invited a number of high school teams that have close relationships with Dai Nam University to participate. This expansion not only helps Dai Nam University strengthen solidarity with the guest teams but also promotes the image of the school more widely.

Up to this point, 27 teams have registered to participate. In the coming days, the Organizing Committee will finalize the number and names of participating teams to conduct the draw ceremony and announce the match schedule on February 21, 2017.

Dai Nam University has two campuses: one is at 56 Vu Trong Phung (including the principal's office and classrooms for first-year students) and the other is the main campus at 1 Xom Street, Ba La, Ha Dong, Hanoi. The main campus is over 10 hectares wide, fully equipped with learning and extracurricular training facilities. In particular, this location has 3 very modern mini soccer fields, which are ideal conditions for students to practice and compete in soccer. Among the faculties of Dai Nam University, the faculties with a very strong soccer development movement include the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Information Technology, the Faculty of Banking, the Faculty of Accounting, etc.

Along with the development and organization of the school's internal football tournament in a systematic manner, the school's leaders and the Youth Union of Dai Nam University are determined to build a stronger school football team to participate in the VUG 2017 student football tournament. Recently, the Dai Nam University Youth Union and the Dai Nam University Futsal Club have announced the recruitment of members to participate in futsal training, selecting futsal players to participate in the largest sports tournament for students. Currently, the School Union is recruiting members to participate in Futsal in the VUG 2017 national student sports tournament. Anyone who has a passion for the king sport - football and wants to try their hand at futsal will be given maximum conditions.

Players will be in direct contact with the coaches, participate in technical and tactical exercises for a fixed period of time, and then the Organizing Committee will select 12 students to represent the school to participate in VUG 2017. Practice time is 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at Dai Nam University's artificial football field, No. 1, Xom Street.

Not only practicing, the team members will compete and learn from schools with strong futsal backgrounds such as Cong Doan, Thang Long, FPT... Up to now, the futsal team of Dai Nam University has only participated in the VUG tournament in the Northern region 3 times and the team's best achievement was passing the group stage, participating in the round of 16 in the 2014 season. That is still a rather modest result for Dai Nam University and the school's Board of Directors and students are determined to improve the team's performance in 2017.
