Dai Nam University Delegation takes action for the environment in response to Earth Day April 22

On the morning of April 21, Dai Nam University Youth Union organized an environmental action campaign in response to Earth Day, April 22; educating awareness and spreading the spirit of "for a green future" to every cadre, lecturer, staff and student in the school.

Taking action for the environment is one of the annual movement activities of Dai Nam University Youth Union.

With the aim of joining hands with the community to protect the environment; spreading the spirit of “for a green future” to every cadre, lecturer, employee, student inside and outside the school, in recent years, Dai Nam University has continuously organized meaningful movement activities for the environment. These include: Traditional camping festival – For a green future, week of “saying no” to plastic bags and single-use plastic products, month of action for a clean Hanoi, Green Saturday, campaigns to take action for the environment…

This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, most of the university's students are still studying online at home. However, to maintain the university's traditional activities and respond to the spirit of Earth Day on April 22, the Dai Nam University Youth Union still organized an environmental action campaign with the participation of students from the faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing.

At the launch, students cleaned up the school areas at the main campus; deployed youth fences, green balls, battery houses and recycling bins...

Mr. Vu Dang Tuan Anh - Secretary of the Youth Union of Dai Nam University shared: "Joining hands to protect the environment does not need to be "big" actions. Anyone can join hands to act from small actions in daily life, such as: cleaning the place to eat and live, planting trees, throwing used batteries in the right place, reusing used materials, limiting the use of plastic bags, not using bottles and single-use plastic products, sorting waste..."

The youth fence was made by the Youth Union members of Dai Nam University. The trees were planted on recycled materials.

Members of the school's volunteer team and student shock troops directly came up with the idea, planted and took care of the youth fence.

According to Mr. Vu Dang Tuan Anh, we cannot call on and force people to be aware and act to protect the environment in a day or two, but it is a process. Habits help form awareness, awareness leads to action. Dai Nam University's environmental activities hope to spread good habits in everyone's daily life.
