With the aim of continuing to develop the master's training program, ensuring scientific, modern and especially highly practical nature, best meeting the needs of high-quality human resources of society, recently, Dai Nam University successfully organized a Scientific Conference with the theme "Developing the master's training program in Finance - Banking and Economic Management in an application-oriented direction".

Attending the workshop were Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the International Cooperation Department, Board of Directors, along with many scientists inside and outside the school, employers, and former graduate students of the school.

In his opening speech at the Workshop, Dr. Le Dac Son thanked the scientists, teachers, employers, and those who have been associated with and contributed to the development of Dai Nam University in general and the Graduate Training Institute in particular; and emphasized the urgency of continuing to innovate and perfect training programs in an application-oriented manner, closely following the needs of high-quality human resources of society.
With the goal of training in the direction of career application, all training programs of Dai Nam University are built closely following and continuously changing according to the movement and practical needs of society. Therefore, in addition to modern and updated professional knowledge, the master's training program of Dai Nam University needs to have new subjects, helping learners develop soft skills, thereby improving moral qualities, awareness and attitude…”, Dr. Le Dac Son directed.
Next was the opening speech of Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Trong Phuc, Vice Principal, Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Training, followed by the discussion of all delegates and scientists attending the conference.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Trong Phuc - Vice Principal, Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Training, Dai Nam University delivered a keynote speech at the Conference.
According to Mr. Bui Ngoc Loi - Deputy Director, Department of Organization and Personnel of the General Department of Customs and Ms. Truong Thu Hoa - Director of the State Bank of Lang Son and a former graduate student of the school, the master's training products of Dai Nam University basically meet the needs of employers, the school needs to base on the characteristics of the learners to design more practical subjects and increase the practice part.

Dr. Le Cong - former General Director of Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank and Ms. Le Thi Van Khanh - Deputy Head of Retail Training Department, Viettinbank, said that the outstanding success point is that Dai Nam University has designed a training program in cooperation with the State Treasury, the school needs to continue to promote, in addition to the framework program, there should be mini programs linked with industries and businesses, aiming to build output standards, the school's capacity framework to introduce to businesses and society.

Sharing the same opinion, Prof. Dr. Phan Huy Duong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Lam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong and some other opinions also said that the training program must be designed flexibly to suit the characteristics of the job and the needs of the learners. In addition to the hard program, soft programs/small programs should be designed for specific subjects such as: Treasury, Bank, Insurance, Tax, Customs... to update new, modern knowledge, new policies, new models that are of interest to many organizations and businesses.
Most of the opinions expressed agreed with the need to add soft skills subjects to the Finance - Banking and Economic Management programs or teach soft skills interspersed in each subject to increase the attractiveness and practicality of the program.

The workshop agreed that “Learning to change” is the goal of developing training programs. Dr. Vo Tri Thanh - former Deputy Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management, Dr. Vu Dinh Anh - Economic expert of the Academy of Finance, Dr. Le Duy Hieu - Economic expert of the National Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities said that training programs at the graduate level must focus on providing knowledge about methodology, thinking methods, and approaches so that learners can adapt to changes in work, titles and working environments, to have a foundation for higher professional and academic development. It is necessary to consider adding subjects such as: Game Theory, Aesthetics, Psychology, etc. to the program.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hai said that Dai Nam University should promote its advantages that other universities, especially public universities, do not have to design new, specialized programs, and charge tuition fees corresponding to high quality, rather than stopping at improving and upgrading training programs.
To improve the applicability of the training program, according to Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Duc Hiep, Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Thi Thu Ha, Dr. Pham Hoai Bac, in addition to designing a suitable framework program, it is necessary to simultaneously consider issues such as: the interconnectivity between training programs, the content and teaching methods of the teacher, the motivation, capacity and awareness of the learners, the ability to enroll and the size of the class.
Closing the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Trong Phuc highly appreciated the success of the workshop and thanked the presence and profound and specific contributions of delegates, employers, and scientists.
