Following the success of the second cycle of educational institution quality assessment, Dai Nam University (DNU) continues to affirm its commitment to innovation and improvement of training quality by organizing an intensive training course on "Building and developing training programs according to the output-based education approach (OBE)". The event marks an important step forward in the journey to build a modern university that meets the needs of society and the labor market.

Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the School Board: "The implementation of training on building and developing training programs according to the output standard approach (OBE) is a strategic step to realize the recommendations from the quality assessment of educational institutions - cycle 2, while ensuring that the training program better meets the needs of society and the labor market..."

Why is the OBE model important?

In the context of international integration and increasingly fierce competition, training students with knowledge, skills and qualities suitable to the requirements of the labor market is an urgent task. The OBE model, focusing on student learning outcomes, helps schools clearly orient training goals, design appropriate curriculum and evaluate the effectiveness of the learning process objectively.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - Vice Principal, said: The training course not only aims to meet the requirements of quality assessment but also lays the foundation for the long-term development of Dai Nam University. The OBE model helps orient training to focus on student output, ensuring that students after graduation have enough knowledge, skills and qualities to succeed in work and life.

“Quality accreditation is a milestone that affirms the reputation of the school, but improvement after accreditation is the key to sustainable development. Applying OBE helps Dai Nam University build truly effective training programs that meet society’s expectations,” Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang emphasized.

Training Course - The Door to the Future

The intensive training program was held for 4 consecutive days with the participation of Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Education Quality Assessment Expert, Center for Education Quality Assessment - Hanoi National University. The training course attracted the attention of many staff and lecturers in the whole school.

Key contents included in the training program include:

Trends in higher education development and the output-based education model (OBE): Update on global trends and effective application in Vietnam.

Building output standards and developing integrated teaching programs: Ensuring the connection between output standards, training objectives and practical needs.

Analysis of current training program: Evaluate, review and identify areas for improvement in the training program currently operating at Dai Nam University.

Design teaching and testing activities and assessments: Develop teaching and testing methods that are appropriate to output standards, helping students develop comprehensively.

"This course has really opened up a new perspective for me on teaching. I realized that just imparting knowledge is not enough, we need to equip students with the necessary soft skills to succeed in their work. I am very excited to apply new teaching methods to help students develop more comprehensively." - Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Head of Soft Skills Training and Development Department shared.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong highly appreciated the determination of Dai Nam University in building and developing training programs according to the OBE output standard approach.

She commented: " The steadfastness in orientation and action of Dai Nam University clearly demonstrates the determination to innovate and constantly improve, in order to create truly effective training programs and bring sustainable values..."

The intensive OBE training course is a clear demonstration of Dai Nam University’s determination to innovate and improve the quality of training. Let’s join hands to build a modern learning environment, where every student has the opportunity to develop their full potential.
