Sharing about the contest, journalist Nguyen Tien Dung - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Business Forum Newspaper, General Secretary of the National Startup Program said: In 2018, the Startup Contest has many changes in receiving entries. Accordingly, the Organizing Committee only accepts entries that have won prizes at the school, school cluster, and regional levels for students; projects that have been and are being implemented for young people. In addition, the 2018 National Startup Contest also has many new points in content, form, organization, etc.
“The 2018 National Startup Finals will be held in Ho Chi Minh City. This is one of the new features of this year’s competition, aiming to rotate the hosting of the finals annually in major cities. This also demonstrates the efforts of the Organizing Committee in implementing extensive startup activities nationwide…”, said journalist Nguyen Tien Dung.
The 2018 National Startup Finals attracted the attention of many experts, students and young people across the country.
After nearly 1 year of launching, the 2018 National Startup Competition has received the participation and support of thousands of young people and students across the country. More than 300 startup projects from 37 universities and 27 provinces and cities were strictly selected from competitions across the country and sent to the Organizing Committee to participate in the National Final Round.
After going through the preliminary rounds and strict censorship, the Organizing Committee selected and announced the list of 06 Projects with the highest scores to enter the Final Round of the 2018 National Startup Competition.

06 Projects competing in the 2018 National Startup Finals include: Black Wood Pig Farm Project - Dai Nam University; APPA Smart Farm Smart Agriculture Solution Project of APPA GROUP International Technology and Trade Joint Stock Company; INut Platform Project - IoT Platform - an ecosystem connecting all things for innovative enterprises of Ho Chi Minh City University of Science; Amphibian House Project adapting to climate change in the Mekong Delta region - Western University of Construction; Project on Producing Microbiological Products from Bagasse Powder, serving in intensive shrimp farming - Dai Thanh Seafood Production and Trading Company Limited; Kon Tum Medicinal Food Project - Kora Group Joint Stock Company.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, journalist Pham Hung - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Business Forum Newspaper emphasized: "The 06 Projects competing in the final round today are all highly practical projects that can be implemented on many different scales. The Organizing Committee highly appreciates all the Projects and will work most impartially to select the best Projects to award First, Second, Third prizes..."
It is known that the "Black Wood Pig Farm" project is one of 3 projects (in the Top 6) from universities and colleges. Notably, the startup project of Dai Nam University students is the only project from universities and colleges in the North to make it to the final round.
Sharing about the competition, Nguyen Van Dung - a member of the Black Wood Pig Farm Project group - Dai Nam University said: "The National Startup Competition is an extremely useful playground, a great opportunity for young people with a passion for business to compete, learn and improve their professional knowledge, especially in the field of startups and business..."

Evaluating the Projects competing in this year's Startup Finals, Dung said: "The 5 Projects competing with Black Wood Pig are truly formidable opponents and worth learning from."
Immediately after the competition ends, the Organizing Committee will hold a Startup Festival to award the best projects of the 2018 Startup Competition; at the same time, organize investment connections for projects committed to practical implementation at the 2019 Startup Festival held on January 18, 2019 in Hanoi.
