Dai Nam University brings tens of thousands of students to school in flooded areas of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh

With the desire to join hands to share with the people of the Central region to overcome the consequences of the flood, especially the education of students, Dai Nam University launched a school-wide fundraising campaign. After only a few days of launching, the amount of donations reached 581 million VND. The school spent nearly 100 million VND to support 18 students in difficult circumstances due to the impact of the flood; the remaining amount bought books, school supplies, and warm clothes to join hands to help tens of thousands of students in the flood-affected areas of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces go to school.

Just a few days after launching, Dai Nam University has raised nearly 600 million VND to support our fellow countrymen in the Central region.

Sharing about the school’s support policy, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa – Vice Principal said: “Dai Nam University chose to share with the people by supporting part of the expenses for students in the school whose families are in the flood area; giving books and school supplies to the students. I think this is the best way for them to continue their studies and escape poverty…”

Dai Nam University cooperated with Soha.vn and Thien Tam Fund to bring tens of thousands of students to school in the flood-hit areas of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh in 2020.

Nguyen Thanh Huyen, a student of class KT14-02, Faculty of Accounting, received 10 million VND in support from the school. She shared: “During this record flood, my house was flooded more than 3 meters deep. All crops, livestock, and poultry were swept away by floodwaters; all furniture in the house was damaged. The lives of my parents and two siblings in the countryside are extremely difficult. I am very touched and grateful to the school and teachers for their timely encouragement and support so that I can continue my studies…”

Urgently pack and transport books to students in flooded areas.

To help students go to school, Dai Nam University has chosen to accompany Soha.vn and Thien Nhan Fund to support books and school supplies for students in Cam Xuyen district - Ha Tinh, Le Thuy and Quang Ninh district - Quang Binh.

Mr. Vu Dang Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union representing Dai Nam University presented books to teachers and students in the flooded area of Le Thuy - Quang Binh.

Through 3 donation rounds, Dai Nam University has donated 2,263 sets of textbooks and 6,065 reference books to 10 primary schools in Cam Xuyen district - Ha Tinh; 905 reference books to schools in Le Thuy district - Quang Binh; 1,271 reference books to schools in Quang Ninh district - Quang Binh.

In addition, the school also coordinated to donate items such as: warm clothes, school bags, notebooks, pens, rulers, etc. and other school supplies.

Student representatives receive books to continue their studies after the flood.
