Dai Nam University appoints new Rector

With the goal of focusing all resources to accelerate development; rejuvenating the team of leaders with good expertise, dynamism and enthusiasm to implement the strategic goals of the University to meet the development scale and increasing learning needs of learners, carrying out the training mission so that "graduates have a good life and become good citizens", reforming the education system of Dai Nam and contributing to reforming the Vietnamese higher education system in general, the Chairman of the Board of Dai Nam University has just signed a decision to appoint Associate Professor. Dr. Pham Van Hong to hold the position of Rector of Dai Nam University for the 2022 - 2027 term from August 1, 2022.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong was born in 1973 in Kien Thuy - Hai Phong. He has many years of experience in management and leadership in the fields of education, training, science and technology and business development.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong used to be the Principal of Viettronics College of Technology, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business (now the School of Management and Business) - Hanoi National University, Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.

He was awarded the Singapore Government Scholarship for Young Asian Leaders to study the Executive MBA program, co-organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT - USA) and NTU University (Singapore). Previously, Mr. Pham Van Hong graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Commerce and a PhD in Economics from the National Economics University in Hanoi. He has chaired and successfully defended 05 ministerial-level scientific topics and published more than 40 scientific articles in domestic and international specialized journals in the fields of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Management and University Management.

Before working at Dai Nam University, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong was Acting Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Science and Technology - Ministry of Science and Technology.

Speaking at the ceremony announcing the decision to appoint the Rector, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong pledged to devote all his efforts and mind to the leadership team and all officers, lecturers and employees of Dai Nam University to successfully complete the assigned tasks. At the same time, he expressed his determination to continue to consolidate and enhance the position, making Dai Nam University a prestigious and top-quality training institution in the higher education system in the Northern region.

“I would like to sincerely thank and express my gratitude to the School Board and investors who have overcome many difficulties and hardships to build Dai Nam University so that today, we have the opportunity to sit here together and work together to bring the name of Dai Nam University further and further, ” said Mr. Hong.

In addition to the decision to appoint the Rector, the Board of Dai Nam University decided to appoint MSc. Dinh Quang Hung to the position of Vice Rector for the 2022-2027 term.

At the Appointment Ceremony, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the University Council emphasized: The goal of the Board of Directors in the new term is to consolidate and enhance the position of Dai Nam University; develop a project to develop the University from now until 2030; improve the quality of training and services for learners; continue to improve the quality of staff, lecturers and employees in both quantity and quality; at the same time, commit to creating the best conditions, building policies and working environment, ensuring the best welfare for staff, lecturers and employees.

Dr. Le Dac Son requested that in their new positions, members of the Board of Directors need to continue to promote their capacity, be proactive and creative in their operations and management; maintain solidarity within the Board of Directors and the entire University to build and develop Dai Nam University to become stronger and stronger.

“With a “rejuvenated” Board of Directors consisting of dedicated, responsible, experienced and capable leaders, I believe Dai Nam University will continue to grow and become the first choice for students with the training programs at the school…”, Dr. Le Dac Son affirmed.
