Internationalizing education, training students to become global citizens, helping students improve their ability to integrate and expand cross-border employment opportunities is the development orientation of Dai Nam University in the period of 2023 - 2030. Pursuing the above orientation, Dai Nam University as well as each faculty and department always strive to implement activities to increase students' exposure to the international environment. On the side of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture, entering the 2023 - 2024 school year, the faculty has implemented Korean Culture classes taught by lecturers from the "land of kimchi", bringing students unique learning experiences only available at Dai Nam University.

The explosive spread of Korean cultural products in recent years has created a wave of interest and passion for learning and exploring Korean language and culture among young people. Becoming a student of Dai Nam University, your love for exploring Korean culture is further nurtured through useful and interesting lessons with native teachers.

Starting with curiosity and wonder about the fascinating Korean culture, through the enthusiastic lectures of the teachers, students will understand more deeply the characteristics of this culture. During the class, students will directly participate in experiential activities such as designing and performing Hanbok (a traditional Korean costume) from recycled materials; practicing making Korean dishes such as kimchi, kimbap right in class...

With Korean Culture lessons with native teachers at DNU, students have a closer look at knowledge about Korean culture, life, and people in a vivid and authentic way. Students have more opportunities to learn more about Korean culture, thereby comparing it with Vietnamese culture, finding similarities and differences between the two cultures. This also helps students learn and research the Korean language more easily.

Than Thi Tu – a student in class HQ 15-05 shared: “I really love Korean culture, from music, movies, to cuisine and customs. Therefore, I am very excited to learn Korean culture with native teachers at school. During my time studying, I had the opportunity to learn about Korean history, culture, society, and people, thanks to which my learning Korean became much easier” .

Pham Thi Phuong, a student in class HQ 15-01, said: “I believe that learning Korean culture with native speakers is an extremely valuable experience, helping me understand more about the country and people of Korea, and at the same time helping me develop my Korean language skills. I am very grateful to the School and the Faculty for creating opportunities for us to study and experience Korean culture right at school.”

Through lessons with native teachers, the faculty and school have naturally and effectively fostered students' love for Korean language and culture.

Mr. Tran Hai Duong - Head of the Korean Language and Culture Department emphasized: "Korean culture is also a highly applicable subject. In the subject, students have the opportunity to interact with Korean teachers, directly experience Korean culture through small projects such as: making kimchi, designing, sewing and directly performing traditional Korean costumes, making traditional Korean house models. After the course, students will have a certain understanding of Korean culture and people, and be able to respond and handle situations that arise due to cultural differences between Vietnam and Korea."

“We are very happy that the Korean Culture class received positive feedback from students,” Mr. Duong added.

Not only limited to the Korean Culture subject, the Korean Language and Culture Department will continue to organize classes with native teachers in other subjects such as Korean Language Practice, Korean Presentation Skills... Through classes with native teachers, the department and the school have naturally and effectively fostered students' love for Korean language and culture.
