Dai Nam in me…

I once heard someone say that one of the three greatest fortunes in a person’s life is “meeting good seniors at work”. When I came to Dai Nam University, I had the chance to meet that fortune.

Representatives of the Board of Directors and the Board of Management of Dai Nam University took souvenir photos with teachers and students of the Faculty of Tourism on the occasion of receiving and operating the 5-star Rosamia Practice Hotel - Da Nang.

In a sharing session with the staff, lecturers and employees of the school, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the Board of Directors emphasized: " We will absolutely not do anything that harms the students, no matter how small; Whatever is best for the students, we will do it with all our heart and soul". That is not only the school's motto but also the conscience slogan that is instilled in every employee of Dai Nam University.

The heartfelt sharing of the school leader has helped the staff and lecturers, especially new lecturers like me, feel warm and more confident to continue on the path we have chosen. The motto of education is based on heart and morality; education must create practical effects for society has reminded us to always strive to improve ourselves in the most comprehensive way.

Perhaps up to this moment, no one can deny the talent, heart and vision of the Board of Directors and senior colleagues who have inspired and contributed to the growth of generations of young staff and lecturers of Dai Nam University.

These days, when the Covid-19 pandemic continues to develop unpredictably, directly threatening the health and lives of people; causing difficulties for the country's economy - politics - society. Not out of that context, Dai Nam University is also being greatly affected. However, the school's Board of Directors is still committed to ensuring full payment of material benefits for all cadres, lecturers and employees in the school. Not only that, the Board of Directors has sent valuable messages, encouraging the spirit, spreading love and sincere sharing to each individual.

Recently, in a talk with staff and lecturers, the leader of the Faculty of Tourism also emphasized that: If we consider students as our children, we consider our staff and lecturers as our younger siblings. This is a sharing that has truly “touched the hearts” of each of us staff and lecturers.

After more than 2 years of “being destined” with DNU, with the Faculty of Tourism, I deeply feel that this place is not simply a place to work but has become my second family. Here, we are free to “swim” to prove ourselves, to be recognized, to be trusted with important responsibilities, to be helped and guided to grow up…

For a young lecturer in both age and career like me, there is nothing happier than hearing the comments of the leaders: "You are completely different from when you first came to school, more mature, more grown up..." Perhaps, witnessing our growth is the joy of the superior leaders, just as witnessing the growth of our students is an endless happiness.

Today, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Faculty of Tourism, looking back at the journey we have traveled, perhaps each person will have their own emotions. However, I believe that from a certain perspective, we all share the same emotion, which is pride in the achievements we have made throughout the journey.

With the close guidance of the school leaders, the acumen of the leaders of the Faculty of Tourism and the consensus of the staff and lecturers, we have the right to believe that the "Tourism boat - Dai Nam University" will overcome the storms, reach the ocean to affirm its position. That trust is also the wish that I personally give to all the teachers and generations of students of the Faculty of Tourism - Dai Nam University on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Faculty's establishment!
