There were 1,693 new cases detected in Hubei province, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the province to 61,682.

Thus, as of 7:00 a.m. on February 19, in mainland China, there were 2,002 deaths and 74,135 Covid-19 infections; in the world, there were 2,007 deaths and 75,134 Covid-19 infections.

In Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Health, as of the morning of February 19, there were 16 cases of Covid-19 infection, of which 11 cases were cured, 34 suspected cases need to be isolated and monitored. In addition, there are 1,538 cases with normal health, no signs of fever or cough, but are still isolated and monitored due to close contact with people suspected of being infected with Covid-19.


Previously, on February 18, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that there had been 92 cases of human-to-human transmission of Covid-19 in 12 countries outside China, but WHO did not have data to compare with China.

WHO has not seen sustained local transmission, except in a few specific cases such as on the Diamond Princess cruise ship quarantined in Japan, Mr. Ghebreyesus said.

According to Mr. Tedros, the WHO-led mission in China may go to Wuhan city, the epicenter of the epidemic, and all options are open.
