Covid-19: Latest update on February 18, 93 more deaths in Hubei

The number of new infections in Hubei province as of the end of February 17 was 1,807 and the number of new deaths was 93. Meanwhile, the US has evacuated more than 300 citizens from a quarantined cruise ship in Japan.

Data updated at 6:00 a.m. on February 18 from the Hubei Provincial Health Commission showed that as of the end of February 17, there were 1,807 new infections and 93 new deaths across Hubei province due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.

Of which, in the epicenter of Wuhan (capital of Hubei province) alone, there were 1,600 new infections and 72 new deaths.

Thus, the total number of COVID-19 infections in Hubei province is now 59,989 cases and the number of deaths is 1,789. A day earlier, the province announced 1,933 new infections and 100 new deaths.

Updated data from the National Health Commission of China (NHC) at 7:15 a.m. showed that as of the end of February 17, mainland China had a total of 1,868 deaths from COVID-19, an increase of 98 cases compared to the previous day. Meanwhile, there were 1,886 new infections across mainland China, bringing the total number of infections here to 72,436.

Thus, worldwide, as of 7:15 a.m. on February 18, there were 1,873 deaths (including 1,868 cases in mainland China and 5 cases outside mainland China), 73,427 infections and 12,687 recoveries.

* 01 American came to Vietnam, previously transited in Wuhan , China;
* 01 3-month-old patient in Vinh Phuc, grandchild of patient PT B, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on February 9, 2020.

Cured: 07 cases

Number of negative tests: 1,111

Number of suspected COVID-19 cases (with signs of fever, cough, coming from epidemic areas) 61 cases continue to be isolated and closely monitored to prevent spreading to the community.

In addition, there are 602 cases with normal health, no signs of fever or cough, but are still being isolated and monitored due to close contact with people suspected of being infected with COVID-19.
