College – Thoughts to Avoid

University is not the only way to study, but it is the shortest, most stable, and most decisive path for people to grow up and succeed in all aspects of life. Whether you are just entering your first year or your final year, the following article is for you.
1. College is very LONG
Never "misunderstand" that college is easy.
“College is so easy!” This is probably a classic saying you will hear from your seniors. Many new students believe it is true, that in college there will be no more endless oral exams, 15-minute, 30-minute exams like in high school; that they can skip classes freely, study however they want as long as they get a high score at the end of the exam… Especially, after a stressful and difficult university entrance exam, many students allow themselves to “let off steam” too much, gradually forming negative study habits and psychology.
In reality, university is very different from high school. There are new learning methods, new testing and evaluation methods. In particular, university requires a great deal of self-study and self-research.
Therefore, the “misconceptions” about “college is easy”; not being able to determine the motivation, purpose and effective method of studying at university from the beginning will make your 4, 5, or 6 years at university meaningless. And of course, if you only have a degree but no knowledge, it is inevitable that you will still be unemployed and unable to find a job after graduating from university!

2. After graduating from college, you will have a JOB.
Many young people still have the unrealistic idea that, just having a university degree will automatically get them the job they want. This is an extremely unrealistic perception and if you still have that thought, please get rid of it as soon as possible.
To make sure that 4, 5, or 6 years of college are not meaningless, clearly define the purpose and meaning of college from the beginning.
A university degree only proves that you have been trained and equipped with basic knowledge and thinking, but your skills, attitude and courage still depend on how you personally demonstrate to employers and in your future work.
If you don't want to be rejected by businesses, cherish the opportunity to learn and study hard.
If you only study passively, without practical experience, you will certainly not meet the increasingly strict recruitment requirements of businesses. And of course, better people will surpass you, you will be left behind. When you graduate and are unemployed, do not blame the school or society because you yourself do not know how to appreciate the learning opportunities you have, do not consciously try hard in studying. No one can study for you, take responsibility for your life.
3. Good Degree is everything
Many people think that if they have a good or excellent university degree, they will be welcomed wherever they go. Being a good student is good, but if you are a good student but lack practical knowledge, poor skills, and a negative attitude, it will be very difficult for you to find a job.
For a long time, businesses have not been too concerned about degrees, they only care about whether you can do the job, what benefits you can bring to the business???
In particular, if you do not accumulate the necessary and sufficient conditions of Knowledge - Practice - Skills - Attitude, you certainly cannot get a good job.
4. Disregard for experience
Students should never underestimate experience.
Never just rush into studying and disregard real-life experiences. Allocate your time reasonably, join clubs, volunteer teams, and extracurricular activities of the school, faculty, and class. Because that is a great environment for you to learn, exchange, experience, and accumulate life experiences for yourself.
5. Consider foreign languages, information technology and soft skills as secondary subjects.
In addition to professional knowledge and skills, foreign languages, computer science and soft skills are mandatory things that you must equip yourself with right from school. Many students consider foreign languages, computer science and soft skills as secondary subjects, prerequisites for graduation without focusing on investing in good study right from the start. This is a very serious mistake and you will pay a very high price after graduating and going to work.
Knowing a foreign language adds another life, students should invest in learning foreign languages to have a brighter future.
6. Let yourself go
When entering university, many students start living away from their families, feeling free from the control of their parents, they begin to let themselves go and live completely freely in terms of time, forgetting how to manage themselves to focus on studying and practicing... The hard-won lesson is to stay away from temptation, focus on studying for 4,5,6 years. First, make a schedule that prioritizes studying first, then immediately register to join a club that you love to participate in activities and exchange. Participate in experiential activities at school and at businesses early to help yourself mature.
In short, university is not a time to relax or stay overnight to get a degree and then get a job after graduation. To be recruited from the application round, you must have at least a good degree. Through the application round, you must demonstrate your abilities, skills, attitude and knowledge to the employer. Even if you are accepted, you must demonstrate your own value during the 3 to 6 month probationary period before you can sign an official contract. So you should determine your motivation, attitude and learning and training from now on. I wish you a beautiful and memorable youth in university and a bright future after graduating from university.
