Civic week with vivid and meaningful lessons

Different from the common dry formula of the regular civic week. This year, during this week, Dai Nam University brings important training programs that are part of the school's training differences to new students with extremely lively and meaningful methods.

“A useful, practical, and extremely comfortable and enjoyable first day of political study with sharing about foreign language learning methods helped me gain confidence to learn English well. Along with that, the program sharing about life skills, overcoming self-consciousness and shyness to become a strong and successful person from members of Tam Viet Group helped me realize my abilities and passion”. That is one of many shares of the new students of the 9th course, Dai Nam University about the second day of political study.

ENGLISH WITH DAI NAM STUDENTS – JOB OPPORTUNITIES

That was the topic of the first activity hour on the second day of the civic week held on September 16, 2015 for the new students of the 9th course at the 1st floor hall, Phu Lam, Dai Nam University in a close and happy atmosphere between teachers and students. The new students of the 9th course exchanged and shared with teachers of the Foreign Language Faculty about effective ways to learn foreign languages, through games to practice confidence in English communication; especially, with the participation of the handsome and funny native teacher Stewart Utley.

Many students share that Mr. Stewart Utley is the motivation for them to do well in English.

Confidently learn English well

How to learn English well? How to learn English to be able to confidently communicate with foreigners? Even though you have studied English hard, the results are still not progressing? All of these questions are gradually helped by teachers to find the answers with flexible and lively learning methods that attract all the attention of students.

Ms. Phung Thi Yen, lecturer of the Foreign Language Department, shared: “ You should make a specific study plan for each subject. For English, you can study anytime, anywhere, such as when listening to music, watching movies, or reading foreign newspapers... Create a passion for learning English and especially you need to be confident when communicating in English. Put each English vocabulary into a sentence, learn one word every day, make sentences with that word and you will improve your English skills .”

The new students were very excited to communicate directly in English with Mr. Stewart Utley. Through the game, Mr. Stewart Utley highly appreciated the ability to remember, perceive English and pronounce of the students of Dai Nam class 9.

SOFT SKILLS – THE KEY TO EVERY PERSON'S SUCCESS

As one of the first universities to introduce Soft Skills into the main curriculum, Dai Nam University has equipped its students with necessary skills right from when they are still in school such as: Life skills, Presentation skills, Communication skills, Leadership skills, Teamwork skills, etc.

During the first days of school, the new students of the 9th course had the opportunity to meet Dr. Phan Quoc Viet and members of Tam Viet Group (the largest skills training group in Vietnam). Through the meeting, the students gained more knowledge about life skills and optimism so that they could confidently, confidently and effectively enter the first years of university life to become useful people for society.

The activities in the program help make the program atmosphere more intimate and cozy.

Talking to students in a friendly manner and always creating laughter; the way the teacher talks helps students pay attention and listen. In addition, members of Tam Viet Group also taught students how to breathe and laugh properly, to make life happier. The stories and teachings on life skills that were not too stressful but very fun and comfortable helped new students absorb positively. The whole hall sometimes listened silently, sometimes filled with laughter and applause from students.

Practical and meaningful political lesson

The first two days of political studies ended with positive effects from students. Nguyen Thi Ly, class TCNH 09-01 shared: “I found the first two days of political studies very interesting. We not only learned about the school, got to know the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and the teachers in the Board of Directors, but we also accumulated a lot of knowledge about learning methods and skills. The confusion and anxiety of new students like me are gone, I see that my choice to study at Dai Nam University is the right one.”

On September 17 and 18, continuing the civic week plan, new students of course 9 will have a faculty meeting to meet the teachers who will directly teach them during their 4 years of study.
