Understanding the disadvantages of these children, on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival 2015, the volunteer student team of Dai Nam University, with the consent and support of Dai Nam University, Dai Nam University Board of Directors and sponsorship from the store "Yenyen Bakery", organized the Mid-Autumn Festival program "Full Moon of Childhood" for disabled children at the Hanoi Center for Disabled Children, Bien Giang campus on September 27 (ie August 15 of the lunar calendar) to soothe physical pain and bring laughter to children during this year's Mid-Autumn Festival.

"Children are like buds on a branch, knowing how to eat, sleep and study is good", but somewhere in society there are children who have to carry their own defects and disabilities, suffering more disadvantages than their peers.

The Hanoi Center for Disabled Children, Bien Giang facility, is currently taking care of children from 6 to 18 years old, mainly those with hearing impairments and intellectual disabilities. The center currently takes care of and teaches over 150 children.

Through the program, the volunteer student team members themselves will also be able to review their childhood memories through traditional customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival such as mooncakes, moon cakes, Cuoi, Hang, the procession under the moon, etc. as well as help them understand more about the disadvantaged aspects of life.

Although the main program took place in the afternoon, the volunteer student team from Dai Nam University gathered at the center from the morning to prepare for the program, as well as help the center staff clean the center and play with the children here. Through the games, when communicating by pointing or some sign language that the children taught us, we saw that their souls were very pure and innocent like any other children. We sympathized with their innate disadvantages but we admired their determination in life.

Below are some pictures of the program, a meaningful program for the students and for us, the members of the Dai Nam University Student Volunteer Team.

Procession with children

The whole team broke the cake with the children.

After parting, each of us regretted something, perhaps we wanted to bring more smiles and gifts to the children here. We promised to come back soon and have fun with the children, and this was also the promise we made to the children at the center.
